Memorial Week Cruise May 24-29, 2009

I also want to thank everyone. I also missed all the meets. by the time we made it to the party, only gymstarr and momster were there, but it was great to meet ya'll. Also, by the time we got out of dinner it was 10:00, so I was not sure how much longer anyone would have been at wavebands.

We are sitting in our room at Villas @ Wilderness Lodge and have had a great time here also. We have spent the last two days leisurely doing EPCOT. Tomorrow we will do Magic Kingdom. There has been rain, but so far nothing horrible. It did cancel Wishes Thursday night, but today is beautiful, so we are fixing to go do that tonight.

Like you said, the gales, it took a while to get the schedule down, but we did quite a bit and DH and I are already thinking about cruise #2 to take DD and DS with us. DM really had a good time and enjoyed touring Nassau. At Castaway Cay, we sat for a couple of hours on Serenity Bay and just watched the ocean and the crowd.

Hope all are settling back into a regular routine. We have one more week of vacation and then back to the grind. Feel free to keep in touch. Later!!

Not to hijack your guys thread, but we were on this cruise, too, 11 of us total. And I was just curious if any of you got sick after?

Eight of us got the worst stomach flu the night we got off the boat! It was horrible. I saw a little girl throw up after the Disney Dreams matinee, so seems it may have been on the ship. This was our first cruise and we had an amazing time--even if they did cancel Do Si Do with Snow White

I was just wondering if this was a common thing or if we were just unlucky?

None of my group got sick at all. There were 3 of us. We are still at WDW and are doing great.

Our journey began over a yr. ago in setting a date for this trip. We planned and planned until I had Disney OCD, LOL. Some said, I was over planning and would ruin the magic, but, tee hee, this is Disney. You cannot ruin the magic.

I (we) loved every minute of it. 4 parks, one world and the sea. When I set my eyes on Atlantis I thought this is paradise and then when I took in Castaway Cay I really knew I had found paradise. It was a perfect day!

The cruise was magical. We felt like royalty. And we got to do just about everything we had hoped for and more. How could you not want to repeat that?

I met up with some at the sail away party. Sorry, didn't get to make it to wavebands the first night but did end up most nights at some point making the rounds.

Thank you to all of you for adding to the magic. Perhaps some day we'll meet again on Serenity Bay.......

Not sure if it is related, but I came down with a terrible virus Saturday. It started as a URI and now it is just in my chest and stomach. My DH and DS are well (thank goodness).

Unfortunately it's not an uncommon thing.
In our travel party of 18 (5 staterooms), there were a total of 5 stomach bugs - 2 on the ship, 3 immediately after - and 3 strep/upper respiratory issues diagnosed by Friday/Saturday. YIKES.

Just one of the hazards of this type of travel. Disney does their best, but with 2400 passengers plus the 800-900 crew members, stuff happens.

Does anybody have a trip report from this cruise out there yet? I've been watching for them so I could kind of relive the trip with you all since we were unable to go!!! Hope you all had a magical time.

Definitely still having DCL withdrawal here, too, but am taking comfort with our next MAGICal cruise coming up in less than 5 months. So, it's almost time to start obsessive planning again!

Just wondering if any of ya'll are still out there and remembering the cruise one year later!!

DH and I would say on this day we were . . . .

We are in the process of planning cruise #2 which will also be on the Wonder for the NYE (Dec 30 - Jan 6)

Ha ha, yes we are still out here wishing we were spending this Memorial Day on the cruise. We want to do Dream next year so we are saving up now. 2 of my kids don't have fond memories since they both came down with Norwalk on that cruise, but they both had 2 fun days out of 4.
We did Carnival Dream in November. It was fun, but certainly no Disney Wonder! The activities were plentiful and the entertainment was outstanding for adults but the food and the lines were horrible.
