Memorial Day

The beginning of summer, barbeque and a long weekend are great, but please don't forget what Memorial Day is really about. Hope everyone has a good one.

I am playing at 2 services on Monday. If you have never been to a Memorial Day Service, I would suggest you take one in. It is a time of reflection and appreciation for those that have fallen to protect our freedoms and way of life.

I'll never forget our fallen soldiers....Those who have served and are currently serving are thought of and remembered.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.

I've spent a couple of minutes trying to think of something eloquent to say.

I cant think of anything better than this.

I will add to this the fact that we are also thinking of the families of those who have served and are currently serving.

Peace.

Well said guys. They will be in my thoughts this weekend.

I was at a veterans cemetery a couple of years ago on Memorial Day (my grandfather is buried there) and the service moved me and everyone to tears.
It was very moving.

There really are not enough ways to give appreciation for what those men and women have done for us and our families. Thank you and god bless those who are and have served.

Here here. Some my best memories growing up were heading to my grandfather's lodge for Memorial Day and the 4th for their parade followed by a 21 gun salute at a local memorial and gathering of all the veterans families at the lodge for a barbecue afterwards.

Contrary to what they tell us, every freedom we have wasn't handed down from on high by the glorified used car salesmen that reside in Washington. They were earned on blood covered fields around the globe.

"We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we may always be free."

Those of you who are veterans...thank you :thumbsup2

Please say a little prayer for our friends who lost their grandson in Afghanistan on May 12th. Take a little time to be thankful for those like Sgt Joshua Deforges who gave his young life for our country.

I can't say anything better than what has already been said. We will definitely be thinking of and praying for all our men, women, and their families who are currently serving and have served for our country. I remind my kids all the time that we must always be grateful for those that are brave enough to defend us and keep us safe.

Thanks for the reminder Paul.

There are many of us that simply can't forget those who didn't make it back home. sigh

Always remembering and thankful.....

This was my post on Facebook Last Night:

Take time to remember Those who gave their lives for our Freedom this weekend: “And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free, and I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me and I'll proudly stand next to him to defend her still today, 'cuz there ain't no doubt I love this land, God Bless the USA." -Lee Greenwood

Thank you Paul and all who have served and are currently serving and especially to those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

I will be thinking of those who gave their lives, and say a prayer for those who are serving.
I hope all my American friends have a wonderful weekend!

I have a hard time attending our Remembrance Day ceremonies because it always brings out so much emotion for me...had a hard time reading through this thread even. I, for one, am very grateful for the sacrifices made and hope the meaning of these days is not lost on most in both of our great countries. Enjoy this Memorial Day, American friends. :goodvibes

In loving memory of my cousin, Master Sergeant Joseph J Andres. April 5, 1971- December 24, 2005. Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He was a badass :)
