Memorial Day weekend--HOW WAS IT FOR EVERYONE???

So, question for the Late May/Early June Pros.

How hot?? How crowded??

I am new to this, we plan to rope drop some, but not all days. My family HATES the heat. Yesterday I took the girls to the park and it was probably about 81 degrees and my 8 year old was in the shade complaining.

I plan to bring plenty of water, the fan things, and take mid day breaks as needed. But I still worry that they are going to drive be batty complaining about the heat.

You are probably looking at 90+ degrees and I mean higher 90's and very humid. I haven't been at Memorial Day, but if I survived Christmas Day at MK (2009 and raining all day plus crowds), there won't be a problem.

We usually hit the parks at opening and then go back to the resort around 1 for lunch/swim/nap and then back at 4 for the rest of the evening and it isn't bad then.

Last year we spent a day at AK (and 2 at MK, 1 at DHS) and saved Epcot for when the kids are older on our next trip "in a few years." Dh surprised me by saying "Let's go back to Disney THIS year!" so we're going to spend a lot of time in Epcot and save another visit to AK for our next trip... in a few years ;).

My boys still have NO idea that we're going to WDW at the end of next month . I can't wait to wake them up the morning of the 29th (at 4am:scared1:) and say "Let's go to Disney World!!!":lmao:

We are getting soooo close! Only 6 weeks away, plus or minus a couple of days.

Anyone want to share their plans? Any new dining experiences? Any 'out-of-park' experiences planned? What are you most looking forward too?

We are taking another couple and their DD for their first ever trip to WDW! So, I am making plans to show them a variety of adventures. The kids will get a surprise in the room from Mickey, courtesy of the Disney Florist. Plus, they will get to do BBB and Pirates League. The adults are going to have two 'parent's night out' for signature dining and partaking of adult libations. Our plans include Victoria & Albert's, for the first time ever! And California Grill. I thought we might bar hop along the monorail line too. Of course, the pool will be a big part of the week for the kids.

How about you???

Well... I made my final payment! YAY! :cheer2:
We are driving in from Tennessee on May 28th--Staying our first night off-site at the Lake Buena Vista Hampton Inn.
May 29th--We will eat a light breakfast, and head over toward "the castle" to see if we can see it to show "Daddy" since he has never been to WDW. Then, we pull in to the Poly and surprise DD4 with her birthday trip to WDW! She thinks we are going to the beach! (We are not lying because there is a beach at the Poly!:confused3) Then, off to Akershus for a 10:55 breakfast. We'll tour Epcot, eat dinner at 1900 Park Fare, and turn in early.
May 30th-- Breakfast at Ohana, off to Magic Kingdom, late lunch at Crystal Palace.
May31st- Animal Kingdom--- Late breakfast at Tuskerhouse
June 1st- Epcot--- Breakfast at Akershus (again...I  the potatoes!), lunch at LeCellier, Dinner at Garden Grill
June 2nd-- Maggie Picks the Park! (DHS?) Dinner at Narcoossee's
June 3rd-- Magic Kingdom
June 4th-- Home :sad1:

I cannot wait for this trip! I just have to remind myself to have fun and enjoy the moment. Don't get commando and stressed!!!

Here is our plan:

May 29 Our flight arrives late morning so we will catch the ME, check-in and head over to the MK for lunch at the Crystal Palace. Dinner that night will be at Cinderella's Royal Table.

May 30 Chef Mickey's for breakfast then back to the MK! Lunch is scheduled for The Plaza and dinner at Hoop-de-Doo. Kids will get to do BBB and TPL today.

May 31 EPCOT! Breakfast at Akershus with the Princesses. Lunch at Coral Reef and dinner at Le Cellier. We also plan on sampling libations around the World Showcase.

June 1 Relax at the resort. Pool time for the kiddos. Maybe a spa treatment for the mommies?? :goodvibes That evening the adults will experience V&A's! :woohoo:Then fireworks viewing at the Top of the World Lounge at the BLT.

June 2 Kona Cafe for breakfast then head over to DHS. Lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine In and dinner at 50's Prime Time.

June 3 Animal Kingdom - Tusker House for breakfast, Yak & Yeti for lunch and Jiko's for dinner. We will have a little birthday celebration for my DH at dinner. :rolleyes1

June 4 Relax at the resort. More pool time for the kiddos. The guys might to the Richard Petty Driving Experience. That night, the adults will dine at California Grill and perhaps bar hop along the monorail.

June 5 Departure Day :guilty: My DH leaves bright and early as he is going to Africa. The rest of us have a late flight so we will head over to 1900 Park Fare for breakfast then head back to the MK for a last minute ride or two. Lunch will either be at Tony's Town Square or The Wave.

We can't believe how close it is, getting very excited! This trip has been in the works for over a year - we are going as a grand gathering with Dh's whole family!

We arrive on May 31 (Memorial Day) early afternoon, ME to CBR. We have dinner ADRs at Garden Grille, before that we will either swim or do some of Epcot.

Tuesday - June 1 - amEMH at MK, then late breakfast at 1900 PF. In the evening, BBB (4 kids!), Chef Mickey's and a Wishes Cruise!

Wednesday - June 2 - Epcot - Breakfast at Akershus, splitting up for lunch and dinner, ADRs at various countries around the world for our group. Illuminations that night.

Thursday - June 3 - DHS (sleep in a little). Play'n'Dine for lunch, mama Melrose for dinner, then Fantasmic!

Friday - June 4 - Cape May breakfast - group splitting up for rest of day (Epcot or Blizzard Beach). Dinner at Boma / Jiko's.

Saturday - June 5 - AK - Donald's Safari Breakfast, Rainforest Cafe for lunch, 1900 PF for dinner.

Sunday - June 6 - MK - pre-park opening ADR at CP, lunch at Tony's, dinner at CRT, then the first night of Summer Nightastic!

Monday - June 7 - Check out of CBR :( Breakfast at Ohana's, probably Epcot until ME pick up in the afternoon

We went the first week of June in 2008 and the crowds and weather were both tolerable, hoping for the same again! I wanted to add more "new" dining experiences, but between me, DH, and DD all wanting to re-do our favorites, it didn't leave much room for anything else! The only new ones for us will be Tony's, Cape May, Mama Melrose, and Boma.

Made our final payment yesterday! :goodvibes

We arrive 5/30 for two nights at the WL before our package starts on June 1. These two days we will do DTD, 1900 Park Fare breakfast, and T-REX.

June 1st we will check into the Contemporary and pick up our tickets.
Our first dinner is at Garden Grill (Chip and Dale are DD7's favorites).

June 2nd - BBB at 8 a.m. dinner at Kona
June 3rd - Late breakfast at Crystal Palace
June 4th - Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus
June 5th - Le Cellier
June 6th - Teppan Edo
June 7th - Chefs de France
June 8th - Do the parks until about noon, then drive home.

Looking forward to seeing the Main Street Electrical Parade, and the special summer fireworks. Hope everyone has a magical trip! :goodvibes

Won't be long, now!

Here is our itinerary:

Sat, May 29 - Arrive sometime mid morning (we're driving 12 hours, but leaving the night before). Check in at CR, and just hang out at the resort and rest, maybe swim. If we get bored, we might do a monorail resort-hop. Dinner at Chef Mickey's.

Sun, May 30 - Rope drop MK. Mid day break back at the CR, then head over to the GF on the monorail for dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe. Then back to the MK for as late as we can stand it (EMH night to 2am). One of us might just head back to the CR with the baby and the other hang out at MK with the older kids. Things like this are why I'm so excited about staying at the CR!!

Mon, May 31 - Take it easy morning followed by Epcot World Showcase. Depends on what time we get over there, but we'll either take a mid day break back at CR or arrive in the mid-afternoon. Dinner at Biergarten.

Tues, June 1 - My birthday! DTD for a bit of shopping and an early lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express. Back to the CR, then to Epcot World Showcase for dinner at Le Cellier. We'll call it an easy day and an early evening here, because we're getting ready to go RD nuts!

Wed, June 2 - Rope Drop DHS. Mid day break at CR (at least for me and the baby), then dinner at Mama Melrose. Early evening here before the EMH crowds become hysterical, or if we have saved FP's, hang out for a bit. Won't stay until close, though.

Thur, June 3 - Rope Drop AK. Leave after lunch and head back to the CR. Then back out to AKL (possibly hit AK again first) for dinner at Boma. Might end up taking our break this day at AKL, just touring around. I'm still debating on how to handle this day, especially with the baby.

Fri, June 4 - Rope Drop Epcot Future World day! Probably won't take a mid day break today, we can hang out in the A/C with the baby in Innoventions. Dinner at Coral Reef, early night.

Sat, June 5 - Rope Drop MK, mid day break at CR, dinner at Crystal Palace. Catch the last showing of Spectro and Wishes before Summer Nighttastic starts.

Sun, June 6 - Breakfast at either the CR or the Poly (QS), then leave. :sad1:

Hi everyone! We will be going to WDW May 29-June 4, then on June 4th we jump on the Wonder for our first trip on DCL!

This is only our 3rd summer WDW trip. We did June in 2000 and August in 2002. All of the other trips have been in the fall/winter. This will be our DS's first summer trip. We're doing a summer trip this year because our 10th anniversary is on June 2nd. :)

This is also our first trip in a while that we are NOT doing the dining plan. For our last trip, we found that the dining plan got in the way and we felt obligated to make our dinner reservations since we paid for it already.

Here's our plan so far:
May 29: Arrive, swim.
May 30: DHS early for Star Wars stuff, MK that night for EHM as late as DS can make it!
May 31: Sleep in, AK afternoon, Dinner at Tusker House.
June 1: Sleep in, Epcot in afternoon/evening.
June 2: Nothing planned yet except for our anniversary dinner at Narcoossees! May hit DHS earlier in the day.
June 3: Evening at MK (We always end our trip with MK fireworks!)
June 4: Breakfast at Kona Cafe before leaving for the cruise!

Sounds like there are some great plans out there!

Mickey Mail should be arriving any day. Let us know when you get yours!

Hi there! We are going May 27-June 4. I have been toying with the idea of adding on the dining plan even though it means buying tickets I won't use for 5 years! I was really really hoping for that FQSD pin!

Any rate this is how it is now which may change if we do the dining plan

27 - arrive about 5 although my dh is coming in later about 1130 pm. Probably just hang out at POP

28 - MK
29-Epcot
30-water park
31 Animal Kingdom
1 DHS - plan to eat at hollywood and vine for breakfast
2 - Epcot - plan to eat at Akerhaus - breakfast
3 - Magic Kingdom - eat at Crystal Palace - dinner
4 - downtown disney - leave for airport around 2 ish.

I hope to take my DD to Bibbidi boppidi boutique too just not sure when....
