Memorial Day weekend crowds v. 4th of July crowds

WDW Vet and go to parks here in FL for both of these holiday weekends/days and are comfortable w those crowds but curious as to the CA thoughts on how crowded DL and DCA are during these periods? We went last year to DL and DCA the Tues after Mem Day through Fri and thought it wasn't bad at all but that was not the holiday weekend, of course. Also 4th is on a Thurs in 2019 so our other option would to be at parks July 1-3.

Any input from those that visit during these periods would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

I went during both of those holidays this year. I would say Memorial Day was not crowded at all. I don’t recall any ride being over 90 minutes (even RSR). The major ones were all under an hour the entire time. Walkways were open as well. I was worried about the 9am openings on Saturday and Sunday but it was fine. This could have contributed to the fact that only Signature and above passes were valid on Saturday and Sunday before. On Memorial Day, deluxe and above were open.

4th of July was busier but still not Bad. Since the pier is open, there were more crowds at DCA. DL was pretty manageable. I left around 6 pm to avoid fireworks crowds. I heard the crowds for those were pretty crazy. For this day deluxe and above passes were open.

Crowd volume will be hard to anticipate, due to SWL. I would expect crowds to be light right before the opening on SWL.

Thanks so much!! I heard SWL is set to open summer of 2019 so that's why we were leaning towards Memorial Day v. 4th of July. Has everyone still heard that as the opening date?
