ok, I tried doing a search, but it is down. How bad is memorial day week? it would be the sunday/monday of the holiday weekend , and the tues.- fri after. This is our 1st full week after school lets out, and my next chance for taking off work would be in the middle of summer, so I am thinking this is the best time for us. I have been at thanksgiving and at our spring break(which never coincides with easter), and that was doable for us.... will memorial day week be worse? and how is the weather then? TIA!!!!! :sunny:

Well, the weather will be warm (which we prefer, we don't like to swim when it is cool) but it will NOT be hurricane season yet so that is a plus! While schools in the south are generally out by then, schools in the north are not out until early or even mid-June so the crowds should be fairly heavy but not nearly as bad as summer. I doubt it would be as bad as Easter either, although we have been at Easter and Christmas and did not find either one unmanageable. As long as you plan accordingly, use FP, ect. I would not worry about it. I think it is the best choice you have. We will probably be there next year at the same time!

That week is when dd17 and I usually go. I think its fine! Pretty warm, maybe an afternoon shower, the humidity is starting to pick up, the crowds are still manageable.

Don't know what your normal "routine" is. We are at whatever park we've chosen for the day a little before opening time (sometimes the early entry park) and we stay until about 11, then we head back to our resort (the park is fairly crowded by this time) for a break or maybe to another resort for lunch, and we go to another park about 3 or 4 pm (lots of folks with little ones heading "home" by then).

This works for us because we've been plenty of times and don't feel the need for commando touring!

Going May 20-31. Curious too. We are planning on not going to any parks during Mem wknd (sat/sun)

We go this week most every year, it is our first week out of school also and we like to kick off the summer with a trip to WDW! Crowds are not that bad, it can be very hot, but it does normally rain in the afternoons. Last year, it rained a good bit, Thursday and Friday after Memorial Day were pretty much wash outs. We always have a good time and are able to do everything we want to do over the week. Just hit your must do attractions early and use Fastpass!

I have been reading a lot on these boards about the week of Memorial day. I even searched for trip reports from last year. :thumbsup2
It looks like Summer crowds don't peak till Mid June and on, but it does seem to get HOT :sunny: and rainy sometimes. According to wunderground weather last year was the rainiest memorial day week since 2002??? I checked out 2002 through last year and most years looked really nice with not much rain at all.
I don't mind showers...I just don't want all day rain. :wizard:

I really wanted to go the week before, but was afraid of snow days and plus my Cousins kids don't get out till the 25th. So we put it off till May 28th! I guess we will find out! :cool1:

I am actually very excited and ready! I am trying to be positive!! Like longer park hours and it will be warm enough to enjoy the pools. :goodvibes

We are renting points and staying at the BWV. I can't wait! pixiedust:

Me and my Wife will be going there on the 22-29. I know its Starwars weekends but people told me it was a nice time to go! pixiedust: But would like to know more on the amount of people that will be there on these dates!

:grouphug:

We will be there the week before Memorial Day! Has anyone gone this week?

Thanks
