Memorial Day Waitlist Chances??

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to throw this out there because this is only our 2nd DVC vacation, first was at OKW last fall, and our first time on a waitlist?? We are arriving May 27th and checking out Monday May 30th. We are wanting to stay at BWV, and I was able to get a BW view on Friday and Saturday, but they have nothing available for Sunday night... The only thing open on Sunday at all DVC resorts was a 1 bdrm that I made a cash ressie to hold while we pray on the waitlist...

We are waitlisted at BW for Sunday night, and also for all 3 nights at BCV. What do you think our chances are of a BW studio opening up on Sunday night with Monday being a holiday? As mentioned this is our first time on a waitlist and didn't really know what kind of odds there are for waitlists. Any experiences you can share would be great!!

Not sure what the odds may be for the BW view studio, but I hope you have good luck.

The best chance of your waitlist coming through will be this week - that's because anyone who has a "shaky" reservation will probably cancel 31 days prior to arrival to avoid having points go into the holding account.

If your waitlist hasn't come through by Monday (5/2), your chances are not that great. But call MS anyway (I'd do that on Friday, 4/29) and make sure they keep you on the waitlist - assuming you still want to be on it. You'll need to call again 7 days ahead of time with the same request if nothing's come through by then.

Thanks for that info... I didn't think about the 31 days prior point... Should I call daily? I requested automatic acceptance if something becomes available, but this has me unsure? When I first called to book all 3 nights I was told the only openings were SS, and then on Monday morning the first 2 nights at BWV were open... So I snatched those right up. Is that automatic acceptance pretty efficient, or should I just call every evening?

I am on a wait list for May 22 - 25, BCV. I requested to be called, because I want to know as soon as something opens up.

I was told that I would stay on the list until 7 days prior to the 22nd.
I was also told that they release the days to the wait list on Wednesdays, so my best chance to getting my res. would be April 27.

Since you are checking in on the 27th, 31 days would be April 26th with the following Wednesday being April 27th, same as me.

This is what I was told last time I called which was 2 days ago.

YA-HOOO!

Just got a call from MS. Our waitlist just went through for a BCV studio. Leaving in just 12 days!! Now, we'll have a short walk to the Epcot Flower and Garden Show..

Hang in there udflyer00... Hopefully your request will also come through before long.

Man that is great!! I'm going to call today to see if anything has opened up... I don't have very high hopes because it is the start of a holiday week... But you never know! Maybe something will work out!
