Memorial Day sales - Washer/Dryer

We need to buy a new washer and dryer within the next 30 days. We are looking for a nicer set, but not necessarily top of the line. We've found some nice sets through Costco, but they are around $2,000. Do any of the major home improvement stores (like Home Depot, Lowes, Sears), typically run better sales over Memorial Day weekend? Does anyone have any other tips on buying a good washer dryer unit for under $2,000?

We just bought our set in late March if I remember correctly. We found the best prices at Lowes. We did not end up buying a clearance set but they had some really nice top brand sets greatly discounted because new models were coming in. I would check in the stores now to get an idea of price.

They should all have good sales that weekend...
My advice.. buy a lower end one with a decent name.. although the most of the off names are just rebranded better known names.
We have a mid upper line washer we bough less than 5 years ago I believe 4 1/2, it has a switch for an extra rinse cycle that is off... in regular cycle it has off then extra rinse cycle then off.... when we use the regular cycle with the extra rinse turned off it adds some water at the end and just stops... so now we use casual cycle that does not have extra rinse as an option at the end
thankfully we had a cycle with no extra rinse as an option
Buy one with on off period

After a lot of research we are going to buy our daughter this LG WT1101CW washer with the matching dryer, they have very good reviews. No agitator with out any of the front loader issues.
