When is Memorial Day observed in 2004? Is it the 4th Monday (May 24) or the last Monday (May 31)? I can't believe none of my calendars have it marked.

Also, when is my 11-month window for calling to make reservations for my first trip home? We want to arrive on Saturday (5/22 or 5/29??) and check out Wednesday (5/26 or 6/2??)... 4 nights total.

Finally, because it's a holiday weekend, would it be better to book day by day, or will the 11 month window be a safe bet for getting what we want in one reservaton? 2BR standard, BWV.

Thanks for the info.

Memorial Day is May 31st. If you want to book the whole thing at once, I beleive you would book on July 2nd. I plan on booking mine Day-by-Day though. One of the reasons is I am booking 4 2 bedroom Villas for a big family vacation and I don't want to take any chances. I don't know if Memorial Day weekend is normally a time when you would need to book day by day though, someone else might be able to help you.

You can call Wed Jul 2, 2003 to make the full reservation.

If you're going to call day by day then it would be Mon, Jun 30th for the first two days, Tue Jul 1st for the 3rd day, and Wed Jul 2nd for the final day.

When you say "book day by day" does this mean calling each day and adding on to your reservation, or does that mean you would have different reservations for each day?? I also want to book for Memorial Day 2004, but I am not sure what accommodations we will need yet.

You call each day and add on to the reservation. When you make the call for the first day, tell the MS CM what you are doing - i.e., tell the CM when your "final" check out day will be. The CM will then hold the confirmation letter until you have made the final call. You will only get one confirmation letter and have only one reservation number.

IMHO, unless you want a standard view room at BWV, there is no need to call day by day. You'll be able to reserve your entire Memorial week/weekend stay with one call - no need to worry about everything booking up before your call.

Enjoy!

Just this year we stayed at OKW just before Memorial Day weekend, then moved to a two-bedroom at Beach Club during the weekend. I booked in late January, then a month later I changed the reservation for arrival a day earlier that weekend to BCV. Not waitlisted or anything, reservation was fine at the time.
