I'm completely new to Photopass/Maemory Maker. The DL tickets I bought with MMB come with Photopass. Is this different than WDW and what am I actually getting with this perk? I thought I would get free downloaded photos of any that were taken each day, but from the conversation, I question that now.
No, the tickets from MMB for DL include LLMP.... From that, PhotoPass pictures are included for the 3 days you have LLMP. DL does not have Memory Maker. So, if you have pictures from days you don't use the LLMP tickets, you would need to buy them separately.

Sorry to be so ignorant on this process. But believe it or not, in the 25 trips to Disney, I’ve never used photo pass. We’ve always just taken our own pictures. For DL MMB, (on our 3 day ticket) do I just walk up to a CM who has a camera and show them my ticket, in order for them to take our picture and have it on my photo pass? Then I can download it for free?

You just ask them to take your picture, then they'll scan your park ticket barcode or if you have a MB+. It'll show up on your DL app to download. If you don't have photo downloads, you can also give them your camera to take pictures with. I always get the PhotoPass pictures so they can show their higher ups that they were in fact taking pictures. Sometimes those pictures come out good and we buy the days pictures.

Not to derail this thread, but the DL tickets seem to be a great value on MMB. That's the reason we bought, but now we are going to use the BOGO OTUP for an Aulani stay in April 2026 since we can.

Thank yo for the information. Just making sure...I can download these pictures for free? One of the earlier responses in this thread, seemed to indicate I still had to pay for them, but maybe I just didn't understand or they weren't referring to Photopass.

Wow ty … that helps. So with photo pass I wouldn’t be able to print out hard copies of photos but could download them? For us Photopass with our AP is like $84 and we could get MM thru the MMB for $99 Seems like a no brainer but honestly I’m still not sure …
You could print out hard copies yourself. Once you pay for access to download, the watermarks are removed off your photos and those pictures become yours to do what you like. You can print them at home, send over to Walgreens to print for you, use them to make a book at Snapfish, etc.

We bought for the OTUP as we use them every year but with the MMB we are saving $181 per ticket so we are saving much more with the DL tickets :)

So I do have to pay for the photos even though I have Photopass? if so, what's the benefit of having Photopass?

If you have photopass you do not have to pay individually per photo.

The benefit of Photopass is that Disney Photographers will take your picture using good quality cameras. You will also be able to have the ride photos.

All of the pictures in photopass are your to download (I think you have to do so within 30 days).
These downloads will no longer have watermarks and you do what you wish with them as mentioned earlier like printing them at walgreens or making a photobook from snapfish.

Genie+ said, “once you pay for access to download”. Maybe they didn’t understand I had Photopass included with my DL Tickets.

A good way to think about it:

Photopass is the service. It’s the photo system used throughout WDW. Anybody can go up to a PP photographer and have their picture taken and sent to their MDE account, and anybody can link a ride photo to their MDE account. But all these pictures will have watermarks, so you’d need to buy some type of package to remove the watermarks. Then the pictures are yours to do what you like.

If you don’t buy anything, you can still use the Photopass services that take the photos and you can look at the photos in your MDE account, but the photos will have watermarks -

Same thing if you had a PP photographer take a picture of your family in front of the castle. The Photopass system lets everybody use it regardless of paying first, and any/all pictures can be sent to your account so you can look at them. But the only way to get the watermarks off is buying one of the packages like Memory Maker.

Of course there are TikToks and WhatNots showing how to remove the watermarks with photoshop, etc. Doesn’t work well though because the thumbnail pictures the system lets you look at for free are not the full quality image.

Buying Memory Maker gives you access to the high resolution image, and removes the watermarks.

The DL Tickets purchased through the MMB Program include LLMP so technically you are paying for the photo pass service. The photopass service is included in LLMP which replaced Genie+ which replaced MaxPass that also had it bundled.

Yeah sorry, I meant any way that you have paid to access.

Today there are so many different ways to pay for that access, and now some are getting included with park ticket add-ons and party tickets, etc.

Without buying any access, we can still get the pictures linked to our accounts, but they will be watermarked and a low resolution copy. You need some kind of paid access to get the full picture and rights to use it.

Thanks-I figured they would have to be some advantage for DL tickets with LL when they include PP.

Just seconding this. I was originally on the fence about buying MMB this year but figured why not. As it turns out we’re planning a first time DL trip to on the back of a first time DCL cruise - both the OTUP and discounted tickets are a great benefit!

I called Photopass Customer Service to help me understand the AP Photopass Download and the DVC MMB Memory Maker.

They both give you all the ride shots, magic shots, and include your entire travel party. Photopass Customer Service can help find missing photos for either of them.

The AP Photopass Download is good for one year of multiple visits.
  • Photos start expiring a year from when they are taken and they can't help you once they expire (so download after each trip).
The DVC MMB Memory Maker is good for 30 days from the start of your visit and is good for only that one 30 day period.
  • It activates by you taking action to initiate activation.
  • If you also have AP Photopass Download, your photos shouldn't be watermarked anyway, and you shouldn't have to initiate activation of Memory Maker to download properly.
  • Download within 45 days of your trip; if photos expire, they can do a courtesy extension for you
  • Using a web browser, I looked at "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker" and under Memory Maker Purchases, I had the option to Reassign Memory Maker. It listed out all my linked travelers, including those who don't have current tickets. It grayed out children and accounts that don't have a MDE associated with them.
So, it could be an added value to transfer the MMB Memory Maker to someone else if you already have the AP Photopass Download. I am interested in hearing from someone who has reassigned their MMB Memory Maker.

If people are linked in the "Family & Friends List" only one person needs the PhotoPass whether that is the normal paid version, the one from MMB or if someone has the AP with PhotoPass option. That person can download all of the photos for the people in your party.

That is why it is recommended to possibly transfer to someone that doesn't not have an AP with that option if they are not renewing their AP.
We of course don't know if this will actually work at this point and are waiting to hear.

Agree. That is why I was thinking of transferring it to my daughter if they go without me since she doesn’t have an AP.

How do you activate the PhotoPass? I am going on a short trip in a couple weeks but I want to save my 30 days til my trip in the fall. I just didn’t want to accidentally “activate” it this trip.

I'm wondering how this "30 day" photopass works exactly? I'm annual passholder that goes twice a year, and have been paying for photopass when I purchased the AP.
