my husband and I purchased DVC together. I used our regular my Disney experience account which is HIS email. When I view the membership card online, only my name comes up, and I called Disney tech support, and they said he needs a separate Disney Vacation club account to view his name on the digital card. We are husband and wife, we all have the same my Disney experience account on his email, so why would he all of a sudden need his own DVC account?

As for why, I don't know, but it is worth doing. I just signed my wife up for her account. I don't even know if she knows her own login, but now we have two blue cards, and can each invite multiple guests to the Epcot lounge, TOTWL, Membership parties, etc. Best to just roll with the punches and get the second card, but work reservations through one login.

Can't answer why, but that's just the way it is. We needed separate accounts as well so that we could both get a card. As above poster mentioned, it is worth doing if you ever bring guests to WDW.

You do not have to have an account to get a blue card. I asked for cards for husband and son who are on deed, but have no log in account. They were mailed to us.

Each member has their own DVC account and they can only see there own DVC card online. Each member is supposed to use there own account when booking or accessing the member website. Using anothers login is a violation of under the terms of agreement between you and Disney/DVC. Having MS mail both ID cards to you has nothing to do with the website.

assuming you are both on the title.

my wife and i are both on the title. we both have the same membership number but a decimal point for each of us

me = xxxxxxxx.0
her = xxxxxxxxx.1

in all the disney stuff you signed...this is documented. you both will have unique log ins to the dvc dash bard where you can each order your own cards

That's what DVC refers to as a Club ID which is unique to each individual. Everyone listed on the Membership has a Club ID. This includes Associate Members who are not listed on the deed.

Yeah I had to sign my husband up for his own account because he was mad that when I entered the parks my mickey lit up purple and his didn’t. :rotfl:

Where do you get the club ID and activation code? I know I got mine way back when. My DH is having the same issue. Does he have to make a dreaded call to MS?

The Club ID is the contract number (Not to be confused with Member ID) with the numbers after the decimals being different for each of you. I think the only way to get the activation code is to call.

Does he want individual website access or is he just “hoping for purple?” :-) For website access I think you need to call for the activation code. I think the rare purple flash is related to linking your club number xxxxx.1, .2 as appropriate (Order of names listed on deed AFAIK) in the my account/memberships and passes portion of MDE. BTW, I made one call and MS gave me all the #’s for my Wife and I.

Our Club IDs and Contract Numbers are not even close to being the same.

Well then let me rephrase, in both the contracts I have, my club ID was the same as my contract number except the numbers after the decimal being different to differentiate between my husband and I.
