When you own multiple UY's do you have different membership number's for each and different login's for the website or can they all be combined together for one member # and login?

We have two master contracts (two different UY) and one sub-contract, all three contracts show up under my one DVC Member login. We have two different blue card membership numbers so you need to specify which one you want to use when making reservations.

Different use years will be under different membership numbers. The disadvantage is that you can not use points from the two numbers for any one night of a vacation without transferring the points from one account to the other. And you can only do that once per year.

As others have indicated, it's all summarized for you when you log in to dvcmember.com under two separate Member IDs. Like the PP, I have two contracts under the same Member ID, and then another contract under a different Member ID. When I click on "Vacation Points," it shows summaries for both.

Unless there's some specific reason you want two different UYs (your current one isn't ideal, or you travel different times of the year regularly), I would purchase contracts with the same UY, and request they be put under the same Member ID. Though having two Member IDs isn't necessarily difficult, it's just easier to have one in the long run (being able to combine points without transferring, having the same banking deadline, and not having to specify which one to use when you call MS to make a reservation). JMHO! ;)

We have 3 Membership Numbers, along with 3 add ons for a total of 4 different resorts. We have 3 different use years.

If you like to book DCL, then this can be beneficial. You can combine and book using all of them, and with the 3 different use years for your cruise vacations. We did this for the 07 Mediterranean cruise and will be doing the same for the 2010 Baltic Cruise.

We also like having the 11 month advantage at various resorts. So there are plus and minuses.

You can use those points from other UY's, but you must transfer them into one account before they can be used.

Where's the plus of having multiple membership numbers, exactly? You can combine and book DCL using all of them whether they are different UY or not for DCL. And you get the 11 month advantage at various resorts if they are all the same UY under a master contract, too.

The pluses are you have a broader range to chose from to get the best contract if buying resale and you can chose the best contract for a given trip to act as an insurance if you have to cancel. Say you have april and December and you want to travel in June. If you use the April contract and have to cancel you have a lot more changes to reuse the points or bank if the UY starts closer to your trip date. The big advantage for having them together was always the aggregate banking percentages. Since the banking rules have changed, now it's just the combining of points from multiple contracts and simplicity. And even the combining of points isn't that big a deal if they are truly separate contracts.

But you can only transfer once into or out of a contract each year. If you had multiple master contracts, you wouldn't be able to combine all of them each year.

Yep, this is true. So if one owns more than 2 contracts, you wouldn't be able to use all points from all 3 contracts (if one owns more than 2). Maybe there is another way to use all of the points, I am not aware of that.

Actually we have used points from all 3 contracts on several occasions for DCL and never have had to transfer. Wouldn't have been possible, had it been required.

So did you just book what you could with each contract and link the ressies?

It sounds like, for DCL reservations, they simply pool the points from the multiple contracts...no transfers. You can not reserve "single nights" on a cruise, then link them it is simply a total required for the cabin.

I wonder if this would apply to a full week RCI trade as well?

You got it Chuck! Have not ever traded for II (nor RCI yet) so don't have an answer on that one...

Just to set the record straight.

Members are currently allowed to transfer points from one of their contracts, to another of their contracts without the once per UY restriction.

This perk isn't in writing, but the Managers and Team Line Advisers all allow this. Some of the Level 1 Advisers are not aware of the perk but when I bring it to their attention, my transfers have been processed.

Excellent info....:worship:

That's different from what I have been told when I have transferred points from one contract to another.

It's consistent with what I've posted a number of times over the years including at least a couple of times fairly recently. It's done on a case by case basis but if it needs to happen they will waive the restrictions when it's multiple contracts for a single owner regardless of UY.

I have different membership numbers and used to be able to see all points reservations etc upon login. Now I can only see one set of points under the one membership number when I log in. I can't seem to get a straight answer from MS if this will be resolved.....anyone else know anything?
