Actually athenna, it was an informational meeting just about the new add-on incentive. You didn't have to be doing it in order to go. You were at SSR the same time I was at VWL, so I know what you mean about the regular member meeting not taking place. They actually had two of the meetings for people to ask questions about the add-on, but it was open to everyone to attend, not just those who are purchasing (cuz we aren't either!)

Really?? You mean I could've gone to this anyway?? I would've loved to have gone, just to go and meet other folks. Bummer, I had thought it was like a ''special'' event and you could ONLY go if you had added on. See, I learn something new every day here on the DIS!

I am sure Disney isnt going to say anything about a DVC at the Cont. is going to happen intil SSR is almost a sellout. Think about it, if they said they planned on building a DVC at the Cont. No one would buy at the SSR as they would be waiting for sales of the Cont. to start. I wouldnt be suprised if they denied even as they are building it. It makes no sense for them to on a business standpoint. So I guess we will have to wait until SSR is a sellout before we hear anything concrete.

Actually I wouldn't buy there as my wife doesn't like the Contemporary(I do, but it takes two of us to make a decision).

I would also assume it would cost more per points(thus adding incentive to buy at SSR) and would take more points per night(even more incentive to buy at SSR. Initially most of their sales would be generated from existing members. IMHO.

Come on Ken, get her up to CG for dinner, spring for a nice bottle of wine, maybe have some flowers delivered to your table, watch Wishes from the observation deck - then 'she' can make the decision!

I agree with socal, we wouldn't buy at the Contemporary either. We may use our other points to stay there once, but we really just don't like the resort. DS on the other hand has a very different opinion. He wants so badly to stay at the "monorail hotel". We would stay for him, but not buy there. I think it would draw a very different group of members than SSR. Just like those that prefer BWV over OKW. It's just very different strokes for very different folks.
