member update meetings

Where can I find info about member update meetings? I've searched all my DVC papers, but I haven't found any info about them. How did you find out about these meetings? I'd like to attend one in June - are they always at OKW on Tuesday and BWV on Thursday mornings at 8am? I 'll be at VWL and I will not have a car, so is taking a cab the only means of transportation I can use? I don't think the bus service would get me there in time. Thanks for your help.

Yes....they are at OKW on tuesdays and BWV's on thursdays at 8:00 am.

That's the date and time that member updates have always been held, but you could ask one of those DVC guides sitting at a sales desk, just to be sure. If you have never been to a meeting, it's fun to go. They serve coffee, juice, and rolls, too, so it's worth it to get up early for the meeting. I was bummed, though, that we didn't get a phone message left in our room about meetings while we were at BCV. BWV isn't far away, it's a nice walk.

When Dh and I stayed at VWL in Oct. 01, there was a member meeting one evening at 4:00 pm (maybe). We didn't go but saw some folks who did and they had gotten "goodies". Ask when you check in, there may be one while you are there and then you don't have to worry about the transportation issue.

Wouldn't it be nice if DVC offered van service to the member updates from VWL and BCV to the ones at OKW and BWV?

We own at BCV and I've been to two member update meetings at BWV. Someone wrote that it was a nice early morning walk from BCV to BWV and I heartily agree. Frankly, I didn't find the meetings to be very informative but that doesn't mean that other folks feel the way I do. On the other hand, as someone else said, they did have coffee, tea, and juice and some munchies plus they did hand out some pins and raffle off hats and other little goodies.

All in all I found the experience, the staff, and other members rather enjoyable.

I wonder if DVC or VWL would provide transportation for those who are at VWL.

It wouldn't hurt to ask would it?

Transportation to meetings . . .

I wondered the same thing. I'll be at BCV in June so I can easily get to BWV but I'd like to check out OKW too since we have never been there before.

The presentation is the same at OKW and BWV- there is nothing resort specific, so you can go to whichever is more conveniently located.

If you miss the meeting, you can still go to OKW and look around. Just ask at the front desk if there is a room available to tour. I'd suggest going between 11:00am and 3:00pm when some of the rooms will have been cleaned but still unoccupied.

You can certainly take a stroll around the resort and enjoy the ambiance. We do this most every trip and visit BWV, VWL and BCV too.
