I agree with you Doc but the key is that it could be done. As to paying for an on line system, I truly believe that it would save money in the long run.
As to the point of no profit for the management of the timeshare. While this may be true, I think Disney's ability to shift part of the cost of things at it's resorts to DVC (like SAB) and (what about upkeep of the actual Boardwalk itself) members has to be a gold mine for Disney.

Perhaps an on-line system could pay for itself at some point in time, but it will still require the development costs to be paid while the current system is still being used- as well as increased staff to handle the problems associated with educating the membership to use it. While the 500-1000 members who frequent this site may be eager for online capability, the other 82,000+ members may not have the same desire or intent. The system will require a custom program tailored to the details of DVC and unless DVC has a significant number of members asking for and willing to use this change, it may not save ANY money now or in the future if most members still use the phones.
As for the proposal that Disney and DVC are collaborating to cheat DVC members thru cost-shifting ... Those costs will still appear as line items and will have to pass an audit. The Boardwalk- and everything on it are NOT part of the BWI/BWV- I'd sure like to see what information you have to suggest that DVC has accepted any responsibility for the upkeep on that as it certainly doesn't appear in any of the accounting reports or POS that I'm aware of.
It seems that you're suggesting that Disney and DVC are doing something illegal and it might be wise to have some data to back up that thought before spreading the rumor on the internet.
