Member services won't even try to see about availability at resorts??

I'm a bit upset. I have ressies coming up this week at VB. I've been told they're cancelled. Member services says they won't even check on availability at any resort other than OKW. Well, they checked that one and it's full.

Basically I'm out of luck and should call back later?? I just don't understand. Surely people have to be cancelling their plans because of the weather?

Is this right?

Call the resort directly. They can handle point reservations when MS is closed, and they also handled them during Hurricane Frances in similar situations. MS loses control of rooms about 7 days ahead of time, anyway, as I recall, so the resort will still be your best bet I would think. Good luck! (We did have luck with this during Frances, so hopefully you will too).

Actually things could be pretty full.

You have the people who were scheduled to be there this week and the people who rebooked due to the weather.

Plus, Disney may not be fully staffed due to CMs with damage to thier own homes who need time off.

It is my understanding that Disney does NOT have to rent rooms to DVC and maybe they have been told no right now. Plus I hear Disney is not even taking room reservations until Tuesday so the computers could be "locked" out.

I would call back and try another CM just to verify there were no DVC rooms anyplace else.

I called to bank some points and just hung up after message. It says that if your arrival date is inside of 7 days stay on line outside of 7 days or other issues call back after 9/28/04.
Also CarolA is right with people who where relocated from fort wilderness, Vero and other places due to Hurricane, resorts can be full. Also people who just evacuated and booked for a day or two would fill rooms now and create a mess with there inventory.
With you being inside of 7 days I would say call back later and hopefully they have a better grip on things too many people trying to call first thing this morning.

the food and wine festavial is going on at Epcot starting Oct 1 - so yes all the DVC resorts could be gone.

can you change your arrival times?

sometimes airlines can move you - it is not your fault - it is a hurricane....

the food/wine festavial stops Nov 15 - Thanksgiving week starts the 20 - so you got a few days in there - where hopefully ms can find something.

Thanks for all the ideas... this is what has come of everything-

After being on the phone with Disney from 9am till 11:30 speaking to everyone but the Mouse (LOL) I'm rebooked for SSR for Friday, then switching to OKW for Sat-Sun, then back to SSR for Mon.-Weds.

I'm trying to call every now and then to MS just to see if anything has opened up at SSR on the weekend.

I wanted to stay at SSR because I'll be able to do DTD and PI if I want to, I'm surprising DH with a few days there over the weekend with me - I'm supposedly going by myself the whole time! Thank goodness for babysitters!
