Member Services mess ups?

I called Member Services this morning and changed 3 nights of our 5 night stay from AKV to BWV (the last two nights we would stay at AKV). Over the phone, I was told that the points total for both reservations was 59 points (only 2 points more than our original reservations). Now, on the dvcmember website, we are showing a total of 69 points!!!

Of course, Member Services is closed now so I won't be able to call them until morning, but has this ever happened to any of you before? Are they reasonable about fixing their mess ups? I'm going to worry all night!
 
I would suspect that the CM just read the number wrong to you. When you make a reservation, the computer knows the total points needed - the CM's are not figuring out points. Look at the points chart, and figure out for yourself how many points are needed.
 
I find it best to know before the call how many points are required, how many points that you have available, and if you have more than one contract, where they are coming from. Don't trust that MS will do things correctly and double check your reservation after the call is ended.

I made a reservation last week and so far they took points from the wrong contract, used a incorrect mailing address, booked DME using a incorrect airline. If I didn't double check their work, these issues wouldn't be corrected.

He didn't just read the amount incorrectly. He actually said "that's only 2 points more than your original reservation". I was supposed to be booked into a Standard View room and he booked me into a Garden View.

I'm on the phone with MS now, but the actual points value for the vacation is 69 and they can't change that so I'm trying to get my old reservation back and not have to bank the 12 points that were used for the new reservation. :upsidedow

It would have been a long shot to get the standard view if you are within the seven month time frame.

MS actually logs into the ME system so one way is to call MS back and have the CM read to you what's in the system.

The other way is to call ME directly. They won't take a DVC reservation but they will confirm it. There direct line is (866) 599-0951.

Going home they had us going out but nothing for my parents. Our tags came all wrong. when I called to fix it they told me to still use the tags because she fixed the bar codes. Should we still use them or should I request new ones, we only have 19 days until the trip.

I would only use the tags if they have the right resort on them. The Mickey head should list what area you are going to and then the resort should be listed. If it is wrong, I would either take a Sharpie and fix it myself or call and ask the new tags be sent out.

I would not rely on the bar code, but that is just me!

If you made the reservation via the member website, you should get a emailed confirmation when MS works the reservation. The problem is some CM's give you the confirmation and some don't.
