Member Renting Points

I just want to make sure that if I rent points from a member (I am a member also), that my room key will say member and allow me to pool hop (if available). ANY HELP?

Technicaly, No. Renters are not supposed to get the member's benefits. From a practical standpoint, unless the member tells MS about the rental transaction, the resort will have no way of knowing about that status. Good Luck!

Doc are you suggesting that the rentor just act like they are the owner of the points they are using? When we were there serveral weeks ago we we asked for our memeber card and a photo id just to use our own points. I don't know if it will work any more to try to sneak by meember services. Maybe we looked suspicious?

Interesting question. Under a rule added last year to the disclosure documents, members who are renting are supposed to reveal that fact to MS when making the ressie. Renters then do not get the side benefits of a DVC member (like 10% off the length of stay pass, pool hopping). However, the documents at the same time say that any owner staying at the resort gets all the DVC benefits and those rights are not expressly limited to the owner staying on his own points. In other words, the renter limitations do not appear to apply when the renter is another owner
