Hi-Does the DVC member who referred us, benefit in any way? Why do they ask for this person's name? We do have a friend who referred us, but she isn't aware of a benefit to her..

TIA:thumbsup2

It depends upon their state of residence. In many states, the person referring a new member that purchases through Disney will receive $200. In other states they receive nothing.

If they stay in the UK then all they get is a nice letter thanking them for refering someone.

Why don't you try to call disney and ask them if you refer someone do you get some type of referral "Bone" thrown your way.

Don't forget to mention you are from Minn, in case your state does make a difference

I know the person we used as a referral got a "perk" but I didn't ask what it was. He did thank us for using him as a referral.

The state or place of residence outside U.S.A. does always matter; a referral gift is either permitted or not depending upon where the member resides.

OP your friend should call their guide to find out whether or not their state is on eligible list.

Best wishes :goodvibes

That part of the DVC site is up...bummer for Minnesotans...

Current Eligible Jurisdictions are: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Wisconsin.

There is a law in Minnesota that doesn't allow this sort of incentive. You will get a thank-you letter in the mail instead.
