It is getting closer to 3 weeks before our Mother's Day trip to the World. My boyfriend and I are taking our mothers to Disney World for a long weekend, Mother's Day weekend.

My "MIL" had gastric bypass about 5 years ago. She is very sensitive to sugar in foods but says she will be ok with dinner (ADRs) and meals. She does also require a lot of hydration! She drinks a lot, a LOT of crystal light. She has had a 'scare' in the past when we were at an outdoor event when it was hot, a fair amount of walking where she almost passed out, with heat stroke or dehydrated.

Obviously she can fill up at the water fountains, but she does carry this card she was given after surgery to show at restaurants for smaller portions, although she refuses to show it as she does not want to make a 'fuss.'

I am wondering can she show this card at stands/quick service locations to have her cup filled up with cold water?

Any information would be helpful, thank you!

Anyone can get free cups of ice water from the QS restaurants! She doesn't need to show her card or explain anything. Just ask. I did this in August to refill DD's and my water bottles throughout the day.

Yes. Just writing to agree.

I am just 3 months out from bypass surgery and will be doing my first trip to WDW in October post surgery.

I don't know where you are all planning on eating, but if you are going to be doing any sit downs where there is a menu (not an all you can eat place), she can split meals with someone or just order an appetizer. Unless you are on the dining plan.

Hydration is a very important thing post op.

Have a fun time.
