Member Merry Mixer dates Released

I'm disappointed that its inside a park again. You shouldn't need park tickets to attend. :( I liked it so much better when it was in the tent next to Epcot. Guess we won't be going this year...:sad2::sad2:

Great! We were going to Epcot on 11/25 anyway! Do we need reservations? Is this a come and go kind of thing ( since we can't lose our FP+ reservations).

No reservation needed. Just walk in, get your ticket for the gift and refreshment, sign up for the contest. You can walk around and hang out as long as you like, leave whenever you want.

This will be our first Mixer.

How crowded are the events? Are there long lines?

We are a family of four with two members of our extended family. Will there be any problems with our family joining us?

I've read that there are characters. Is this true of recent Mixers?

I did find this information on the member web site:

Oh good, Bobbi! We should plan a specific location and time in there to meet up. I usually head toward the far left back corner. It's usually a little quieter back there.:thumbsup2

I will send myself a note..."go to the far left corner of the area!" Cannot wait to see you again, and meet new folks!:wave2:

I'm so excited! I will be going on the 2nd!i have been one other time and it was pretty cool! Little different than the WHW but I had a good time and even got a DVC ornament:)

RAY!!! You and DVC_John were the only two people I saw who I knew last year! Hope to see you again on the 16th if you will be there that night. We usually head back to that far left rear corner where I saw you last year. I think we'll plan to get there as close to 3:00 as possible.

I will be there that day, too. I would have sat down with you last year, but I didn't want to intrude on your other guests or table place. Thank you for the invite. I'll be there at 3pm, too.

We will be there on the 2nd. Very excited about this! We got last years ornament at Aulani. We are taking my neice and her family (first visit) and my parents will be there too. I hate to blow them off but will if I have to. Is there someone to contact about bringing guests?

Hi, Doug. The lines outside can be very long at the first exterior gate between the coffee and pin kiosks.

But, last year, they went through pretty fast considering the long lines. I was at back of the line all the way back to the Canadian Pavilion, and I got to the first gate within 15 minutes.

Last year, once you showed your DVC I.D. card, you entered another outdoor walkway and see the snowing on the way to the next doors. This took about 5 minutes.

That is why some people will come either very early to line up or about 30 minutes later to just walk in.

Once inside a lot of pin people rushed to go reserve a table near the stage.

A lot of people ran to the left rear of the of the building to get in line to buy special pins. This line can be very long.

Some people just go to turn in their coupon and get their cookie or drinks.

I like to enter the first character line on my right. Last year it was Mickey and Minnie.

Then I go past the stage to the far right corner and get my second photo with Pluto. I just let them use my own camera while they were taking the fee passed photos that you can buy online.

I was through within about 10 minutes. BUT...I was first in line at the outside gate and not at the end of the line. I was able to go to three of these last December, I plan on going again on December 2, 9, 16, 2013.

A lot of fun for you and your kids. Try and participate in the stage games.

Here is a photo of me from last year in front of the building once through the first gates below.

Last year, 2012, there was a :...limit of 6 guests per DVC I.D. card holder..."

Here is a link to the thread and poll that I started last year. I originally just put quote marks, but I highlighted with the DIS quotation marks to make it easier to see the exact quote from DVC.

Remember, this link is for last year's 2012 DVC Merry Mixer, and not this year's 2013 DVC Merry Mixer. But last year, I copied the information from the DVCmember website. Their is also a link to the map on the first post to show where last year's location in Epcot where the 2012 DVC Merry Mixer. But I don't think that it works anymore.

On post #47, I have some photos of me with it snowing at the DVC Merry Mixer door entrance. And photos that some other folks wanted of the Disney characters, and special pins, and the 2012 ornament that they handed out.

Last year there was and they are located in the link above, but here are two of my photos from last year. I hope to be able to you and a lot of new friends this December.

I see the total of 6 but....do you think that they would exclude kids from entering? My cousin is joining us...she has 4 kids, I have 2 who will be with me. All in all--that is 8 (2 adults + 6 kids). (all kids are 10 and less so, not ones who can be alone)

Believe it or not, there are more of us LOL...the "boys" are going on the keys to the kingdom tour. I am thinking we can hop the monorail and hit Epcot for the mixer...

It's a lot of fun! It's snowing when you enter the building. The DJ gets everyone dancing. He has done them for a few years so he knows us and asks us to help him with some of his contests. There are meet and greets for Christmas photos. There is a Christmas cookie and hot chocolate. It's in a very large function room with tables and chairs. They give you a Christmas ornament when you leave.
Ok. I am giving the other view.

It was a boring sales event. Long lines for a cookie (they ration because one year folks were taking bags if them. ). Lots of talk about how quickly whatever they are pushing this year is selling out etc. I have never gotten the hype

I tend to agree but the ornaments have been nice. Hope they have them again this year.

Just curious, did they not have the DJ or the characters? Your description sounds more like a presentation than a party. Just wondering if we should give up our precious time for this event.

We have only been to one and will be going back this year. They did have the DJ, they did have 2 or 3 character photo ops, they did have games, they had a couple of "elves" entertaining people. It was "snowing" outside and they had "snowflakes" projected on the walls inside. They did have numerous drawings for gift baskets and there there was a very nice DVC ornament when you left. We had a nice time. Not great but nice.

Yes, the lines for pins and merchandise were long, we only got 1 gingerbread cookie per person, there weren't too many places to sit, more standing tables than sitting tables.

There was however absolutely no presentation or selling of DVC. Same with the Welcome Home Wednesdays, no presentation or selling.

If you go in with a bad attitude you'll probably not enjoy yourself. If nothing else you'll get a cookie, a beverage and an ornament and a new experience.
