Member Locker?

exactly what can be stored. i see a pp said she will pack pillows. can you pack clothes. we go down during colder months so can a couple of sweatshirts fit. everyday clothes like undergarments etc.

dso they deliver the locker to your resort every time you have a vacation or is there a limit.

what is meant by a "visit". i assume it means getting access to your locker which is not the same as a delivery.

sounds good since wqe go 2-3 times a year.

thanks for any advice

I posted my inventory list here http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=33182023&postcount=20 and if you go to ownerslocker.com you'll find a lot of lists!

Dumb question of the day - how does one fill it the first time? I'm assuming I'd have to bring everything with me on one particular visit?

I found a large box similar in size to the OL (just only a few linear inches smaller) and packed it full (44 Lbs) and shipped it down ahead of us via UPS. Some people use suitcases or go shopping while they are in FL. But we use DME so no car to go offsite and our preferred airline charges to check bags so the shipping worked out best for us so we could travel down in carry-ons & not have to deal with a checked bag on our return.

We have left unopened water, coffee & snacks if we know we're coming back in 2 or 3 months... I stocked ours with Captain Morgan...sunscreens, OTC meds, flip flops, toiletries, mini umbrellas & ponchos etc. It is FULL.

so when you join they send you a locker. you fill it and ship it back. then you get a delivery(initially 2 then 1 per year). any additional deliveries cost extra.

Not sure what you mean by "ship it back" but when you join you set up your first delivery. The Locker will be at your resort when you arrive. The Purple Van will come back to pick it up the day you check out.

I've been using my Owners Locker for several years now. For my first trip using it, I filled up a duffle bag with all the stuff I was going to put in the locker. THen, when I got to my resort, my locker was there waiting for me. I put all the 'stuff' in it. It's so nice to have a few changes of clothes in there, full sized toiletries, sunscreen, playing cards. melamine dishes, some silverware, batteries, ponchos, sweatshirts, mittens, detergent, fabric softener..oh the list goes on and on.
Then, when we were ready to leave WDW, we just folded up that duffle bag and stuck it in our regular checked suitcase. I'm constantly taking stuff out of my locker and putting other stuff in.
And you can't beat the customer service. I have yet to meet anyone who cares as much about their business, and the people using it, as John and Brian. They are really the best. I wish I lived down there....they are people I would want to work for/with!!!

I love our owners locker. I would love to get another one to store pillows, shirts etc, but I can't justify the cost for a second one.

We shipped all of the items that we were going to store in the locker by Fedex. We keep all of the items that we used to take with every trip in our locker. It's great not having to lug that stuff back and forth for every trip. The company is top notch.

Wow. I wasn't even considering this, but now...

so - would you all say it's worth it if you're only going down once a year? I would love to be able to visit WDW 3 times a year, but just can't - yet.

We LOVE our Owner's Locker, and are even considering purchasing a second one! Besides saving on the airline luggage fees, it's nice to travel extra light on the way down and back!

OH YES, YES, YES... we love our two Owner's Lockers!! They are such a wonderful thing. We pack so much less now, and don't stress about what we need to bring at all. Most of it is already there waiting for us before we even step off the plane. We just added our 2nd one this last trip (about 10 days ago), having shipped a box down in advance of acquiring both boxes. It is great knowing exactly what will be there waiting for us when we return in January with extended family - and how much we DON'T need to bring WITH us when we return each time!!! The OL website has a great spot to track the inventory of your box(es), as well as sample lists by other members that help get your own brain churning (but Tara's list is remarkable too!). We have over 130+ items stored in our 2 lockers... from non-perishables to DVD's, to laundry supplies, to other items that make our vacations more convenient & relaxing. It is very well worth the annual cost in my mind!

Depends on how much you value your time and sanity and comfort. :) For me, it's much more about the convenience of not having to pack toiletries, having the exact shampoo I want, not having to pack and unpack and store and find the ponchos/misters/crapola every single time.

It's hardly a losing situation, either - the DIS board deal is outstanding and you can cancel at any time, so after a couple of trips if you think it isn't working well for you, you can cancel - that would be before you get into the regular annual fee territory anyway. But I can't imagine anyone actually thinking it wasn't worth it, that's how terrific I think the service is! :thumbsup2

Just back from 5 days at AKV and my 2 lockers were there as scheduled and my Mickey and Minnie hats ready to go along with the misty bottles and Starbucks coffee, etc, etc. (yes, I do want my Starbucks when at WDW). John and Brian really provide the best service for their clients.
