Member Discount/Membership Card

Just wondering what the etiquette is for having the discount applied, mainly in the restaurant area. When do you present your member card - before the bill is finalized, or do you let them know upfront that you are a member? Has anyone ever had a new CM who didn't know what/why you were giving them your card? Do you carry the list of discounts with you? Now that I think about it, I guess I have the same questions for the stores/activities that give a DVC discount.

Sorry for so many questions! I just don't want to look like an idiot and I'm wondering how I'm going to stay on top of when and where I need to remember to use the discount! Natt

We usually tell the server that we will be using the DVC/DC or whatever discount when we are seated. This way, hopefully, we don't forget to use the discount. Also, we use our room key for charging and it has DVC member on it.
