member cruise: cash or points

Has anyone figured out if it makes sense to use points for this cruise? I'm thinking pay cash for one and use points for one. What do you all think?

It depends on your situation. I am cash poor but have 484 points available.
Since I am going alone it will cost me nearly double in cash or points.

If you're looking for the better "deal", points isn't it for any disney cruise! You'd be better off renting them out and using THAT cash for the cruise. But like someone else said, it depends on your situation. It depends on what you have more of and what you can swing. Even though it doesn't make sense financially, i like having the option of using points to cruise. I'll probably do one of each. Now if we could just get them to let us use points to purchase APs, lol.

We have used points for 2 cruises, paid cash for 2. I am new to these boards and the thought had never occurred to me to rent my points out and use the cash to pay. But it has now--every year the points go up for the cruises. I just wish they would do a 7 night or longer member cruise. It is wonderful that DVC gives us so many options to use our points on, but the best value is with the DVC resorts.
