Member Cash Reservation - Boardwalk View???

I'm trying to add on a few days to our Boardwalk 2-Bedroom Boardwalk View reservation using cash, and I keep getting conflicting info from MS. I've had the cash reservation come up in the sysytem and then poof! it's gone. I've also had them tell me that Boardwalk View rooms are never available as a cash reservation! HELP! Has anyone ever successfully reserved a Boardwalk View room on cash - with member discount or even at rack rate???

I have also been told that BW view rooms are only available with points. I was not able to add nights with cash, even without a member discount. In a way I am glad about that because I think members should have access to those rooms. I think the only way a cash ressie would get them is if there would be a last minute cancellation of a points ressie or if no members requested the rooms, even inside 30 days.

Just posting to say my understanding is the same as Jean's - the guaranteed Boardwalk view rooms are not available for cash (whether booked through MS or through CRO/WDWTC).

I also agree this is a good policy. BW view rooms are very popular and members paying with points should get first priority.

For our upcoming trip, we are staying at BWV in a 2-bedroom using the cash discount for weekend nights, and our points for the week. We have run into the same problem - our points nights are boardwalk view, and our cash nights are not. We were told that only points ressie's could book a boardwalk view.

We are just keeping our fingers crossed that possibly our ressie's can be linked if when we check in, there is availability to do so!!! As of right now, we are switching rooms 2x b/c we don't want to give up our boardwalk view!!

25% for DVC resorts.

Member cash nights are only supposed to be reserved if they have the expectation it will not be needed for points. What are the chances that a boardwalk view will go unreserved with points? Practically zero.
