Member Block Party

Does anyone have first hand information from 7/5/05's member block party at PI. Please give details I'm going to one soon and looking forward to it!!

Upon entering you are given an envelope with 2 snack coupons and other discounts ( Ghiradelly, etc..)

All the games (video and carnival ) and lemonade and water were available for free.

They had some very very tall people walking around. Along with everyone's favorite Dee Vee Cee, You may recall her from member homecoming.

The snack choices were cotton candy, popcorn and ice cream bars.

Inside the motion club there was Pin trading along with dancing and more snack carts along with drink carts. I also beleive the bar was open, can't vouch for that personally since I was driving home. There was also a person making baloon animals. I have a picture of a baloon mickey that someone let me take.

Upstairs they were offering a free 5 minute massage and had a nice comfy couch area.

they had a big raffle basket that you had to stay until 7pm to win. no I didn't win. I had a complete blast though.

The pins are preview pins. Also they had Pins from previous events: Member homecoming and member day that you could trade with CM's for.

Did you have to be there the whole two hours? DH were planning on arriving @ 6pm. is this to late?

I think if you came at 6, you would not miss anything.

Were those baskets of goodies what they look like? They certainly look like Longaberger baskets!

The baskets were the raffle prizes. I saw an alarm clock. Don't recall the rest.

Cheryl, thanks for posting about the block party. It sounds like fun. I, too, was hoping to hear about them. Hopefully, we will get to go in August.

There were CM's giving out wristbands. I'm assuming that was the entrance into the PI clubs.

NJOYURLIFE: I believe the last one is August 23, which is the day we arrive, so I think we will try to attend.

DISGIRL, that would be the one we would be able to go to as we are hoping to be in another trip this year (taking full advantage of those annual passes) from 8/20 to 8/27 at OKW.

Thanks for the update on what happens. Sounds like it was fun. We will be there for the one on July 26.

Did they give the wristbands to everyone that was at the Block Party or did they ask to see your DVC ID before you got one? I will have DS and his DGF with us that night, and I am wondering if we all be able to get into the Clubs after the party.

I believe that they are given out by party. So one person in your party would need to be a DVC member.

Just got back last night. Will post a quick trip report on the Community board in a moment.

We went to the Block Party from 5 to about 5:40 (Had to catch the bus to AKL for dinner at Boma). Had a great time at the party. When we were waiting in line for the party to start, CM's came by and asked to see one DVC member card, per party, then gave out wristbands to all the adults in the party. These were your "ticket" into the PI clubs after the party ends at 7:00 pm. At least that's what one CM told us. We were asking for wheelbarrows to take us out of Boma at 7:00

I would definitely go if you can, we wished we could stay longer.

Thanks, great to know. We don't go to Pleasure Island that often, but we do enjoy the Comedy Warehouse and Adventurers Club every now and then. What a perfect opportunity.
