has any one else had an unpleasant attitude from member administration? i have had 2 different occasions when the cm in administration was extremely rude. i was not requesting anything difficult and i was not complaining!! i did not even want to remember her name, but now know that i should have. it was not the worlds that she used but her tone of voice and discouraging attitude. i am in the process of purchasing more pts. and she has almost changed that desire.:headache:

my dvc is supposed to be something nice and pleasant for myself and my family. i certainly don't need someone who makes dvc very unpleasant.:(

my guide mike brunsun is the person who put me in touch with her.

i don't feel that i can recommend dvc to my friends if there is any chance that they will come in contact with that attitude.:confused3

Isn't pretty rare that the average member would have any contact with administration/accounting? I've only contacted them twice in 15 years, once to make sure they received a dues payment I made in person at OKW, and once to set up dues auto debit.

I've never had a problem with them.

I just had to call them this past January. Even got a call back to make sure I got what I wanted (left VM first time I called). CM was very nice and very friendly.

Sorry you had a bad experience.

no-not admin. but the lady my mom talked to yesterday in MS was so rude to her. I was right there because my mom was transferring points into my account and she wanted to make sure she did it all correctly since this washer first transaction (she just bought in jan). The girl-(realized I can't call her a lady because she was anything but a lady)-whom we will call - "Y" -actually snickered at my mom when she asked a question. This person was definatley not a person who should be in MS if she can't really answer your questions without being very rude about your lack of knowledge. They need to realize that some people have not been around since creation of DVC and that if she has to answer the same questions with every caller then she should just suck it up or change jobs. I am wondering if I should contact someone higher up. I can deal with the occassional snipyness (?) but everything my mom asked was answered with such a smart answer that my mom was really mad and also really taken back because this was her first call in to MS so not a good way to start. My mom was so shocked at her tone to her that she is calling her guide because she didn't know who to go to about this.

What was your question? Maybe this had an impact on how the conversation went.

it wasn't a hard question-she just was asking about transferring and wanting to make sure that she had done everything she needed to do. Remember-this was her first transaction so she just wanted to be sure. and then she asked if she needed a confirmation number to show it was done and 'Y' just snickered once again and said ''no that she had taken care of it.'' How was my mom suppossed to know what gets a confirmation number and what doesn't? I mean, you get them for reservations for food so you would think a transfer of 150 points would get one also.

But also-I am not sure what you meant by your question Dean? What question would my mom had asked that would deserve rude treatment? Are some questions deemed unworthy to be asked??:confused3

I had one contact who spoke English w/ a very heavy accent and she was a little 'short' in her tone. After I hung up I thought that maybe I didn't get a thorough answer to my question and had concerns that the CM even really understood what I wanted. I had moved and changed banks and needed to change my account for my annual dues. I called back the next day and got another CM. She was much easier to work with and I felt that I had been understood. No new information but a more satisfying interaction.

If you have the person's name you could call the member satisfaction office and let them know the concerns you and your mother have. At least it might result in retrainng on correct procedures for that CM to follow. I have never had a bad transaction with MS and the couple of times I called the admin/accounting people they were more than helpful and very cheerful. Sorry you did not have the same experience. Have you checked your account to confirm the transfer took place?

I've never had to call administration. What were you trying to get administration to do?

Nothing deserves rude treatment. What I was wondering is whether it seemed simple to you but not necessarily from DVC's standpoint. Generally you would call Member Services for a points transfer and not Member Admin. Diane also alluded to this issue. The only time I've ever had to talk to member admin was in transferring permanent ownership and ROFR issues. They can be the dickens to get on the phone at times.

I was refereed to Administration by the MS CM. I don't think anyone works there. :confused3 I had left 2 different VMs and submitted a email via the web site to verify my use month on a new contract. The month we were told and the month on the paper work were different. I never did hear back from Administration. :confused3 I'm using the date on the web site.

I called MS a couple of times in early-mid January with questions (one being that I had never received my PIN # to use on the member website). Both calls were handled with the same rudeness and general bad attitude it sounds like the OP is describing. I was on hold FOREVER and then greeted with a big sigh and "what do u want" attitudes. :headache: I called back Jan. 23 to make a reserveration and that call went fine. The CM was friendly, pleasant and seemed to have a great personality. But the first 2 calls I made were very discouraging.

But if I understand correctly the OP called Member Admin about an issue that should have been handled by MS and was directed to do so by their guide. That said to me one of two things. Either they meant to say they called MS or there was something special about this issue that might make it more of a problem and thus get more of an attitude or that there was simply a conflict that was not being solved to the members satisfaction right or wrong.

We had a couple contacts with member admin when we first joined because they were having trouble setting up our account. MS wouldn't talk to us yet because we weren't in the system yet. Member admin was great in figuring out what the problem was and in going out of their way to solve it so we would be in the system in time to bank our points.

Dean the OP called admin about something that was never really stated in the post althouogh they did mention being in the process of buying more points. She was advised to do this by her guide. Another poster called MS about transfering points and had a bad experience. She is the one who asked a question and got a rude reply-

I see I did mix up two posts somewhat, thanks for pointing that out. I used the word rude but if you read the OP you will see words "like tone of voice" and discouraging attitude.

Dean, there are actually three people complaining about "something" in this thread, and only the OP has not com back to explain. I thought the same thing you did. I also thought you assumed you were answering the OP in one of your posts, when you were answering one of the other "complaints" in the thread.

my original post was due to a rude attitude and lack of interest in what i thought was supposed to be her job.:confused3

i was requesting information on how to go about having a name removed from our dvc contract. there can be many reasons why, death, divorce or just a separation of assets. the ma lady replied "good luck, you can not do that unless it is paid for". my contract is paid in full and there should be not problem. but, my complaint is not really with the words she chose to use but with the attitude and tone of voice. by the way, this was my second contact withe ma in 6 months and the attitude was the same both times, i even think it was the same person. i do wonder if they have been trained to behave in that manner so that you will not attemt to make any changes, that would lessen the amount of work they have to do. it sounds like a threat to me, as tho they can make life unpleasant for you at disney if you don't do as they say. i actually did try to make the contact on line and never received a reply.:sad2:

this is the only disney vacation club contact i have ever had that sounds more like the other time share companies:headache:
