Has anyone been to this fondue restaurant? How did you like it? What's best on the menu? Love to hear your opinions.

I've been to The Melting Pot in Chestnut Hill (I see you're from PA)
I liked it very much. You can look up their menu at www.meltingpot.com
It's fun with a few friends. I'm not sure what is best on the menu but everything was tasty.

I've been to one in Ohio -- they're wonderful. A great place for a romantic night out or even fun with the whole family. A bit pricey, but for a special dinner, well worth it. :)

This is my favorite restaurant! If you go to their website, you can sign up for "Club Fondue". They email you coupons for free desserts at "The Melting Pot" :cool1:

I took my best friend there for her Birthday. We had the best time. The food was great, but as was mentioned, it is a bit expensive. We did have a good laugh about how "romantic" it is. Dim lighting, cozy booth.

The only problem that we had was that the server was new and didn't heat the oil for the meat portion to the right setting. Another server noticed and upped the temp.

Everything was delicious, and it was a fantastic experience. :flower:

My DH and I went not too long ago and had a good, albeit a little pricey, meal. It would be a nice place to go with a group as long as people had the same dietary restrictions since they can't have multiple dipping pots going at any one time (for a large group they could, but not for a small group or family). We're vegetarian, and I wouldn't want to go with a meat eating group (normally I'm fine eating with meat eaters... :teeth: ). But my DH and I did enjoy it and will go back again sometime.

We've been a couple of times. It is really good and really fun. The first time we went, we went with another couple and it took us 3 hours complete our meal. Last time we went, it was just DH and I and we managed to get through it a bit faster - just under 2 hours. So, be sure to allow plenty of time when you do go!

We do "The Big Night Out" which is a cheese course, a salad course, the main entree and a dessert. Our favorite dessert is the Yin & Yang - dark and white chocolate.

We liked the Coq au Vin cooking style. Did the oil once & that was a mistake - too heavy.

My husband and I went out to one for a special night once. Yes, a bit pricey as other said, but I loved it. The food over all was really good and it made for a nice and relaxed kind of meal. They do serve a ton of food though. Next time there is no way I could eat a part of that "meal for 2" they serve. It was also a lot of fun, and I liked having control over how long I cooked my foods!!

We haven't made it back since, but we both really would love to go again :)

it is pricey-but it's a great place. we have been twice with the kids and this is one longer meal they have no problem with-they love getting to "cook" their own entree, and even my picky eater finds plenty to enjoy.

it's def. a place i would reccommend a reservation for since the time dining is longer and there tends not be allot of availability for drop in diners.

try the "turtle" dessert-chocolate, pecans and carmel :teeth:

We've been twice here in Indy. One of out favorites! Be prepared for a long evening, but it's well worth it!

can anyone give me an idea on what "a bit pricey" is?

What is the average cost for a family of four? A couple?

Go to their website and read the menu. It looks like you will be spending around $150.00 per couple if you include drinks and dessert.

$82.00 per couple for the meal.

We love going I think last time we got the Fondue Feast (cheese fondue, salad, meat plate (lobster, tiger shrimp, potstickers, ravioli, chicken and a couple of different steak cuts,) we also ordered dessert) od course with that you get with the cheese different veggies to dip, and breads, with the meal you get different veggies, and many different sauces, and we chose the coquavin (sp) cooking style which is extra too. Our deassert was a special one Bananas Foster- WOW it was the best we have had there!!! I had a glass of wine and DH maybe had soda- I think we spent around $100- it was for our anniversary- Of course you can just go for dessert which is totally worth it! and you can just order entrees not the 3 courses.

The cool thing is that is romantic for the grownups while being fun for the kids.

I turned in some of my American Express points for gift cards. :teeth:
