Maybe this has been posted before, so I'm sorry if it's a repeat. Last Sunday (Dec 13th) I learned that WDW stopped carrying that super yellow melted 'cheddar' cheese park-wide. I know they had it at Casey's and Starlight Cafe but we haven't eaten in either of those in about 6 months. What happened, and when?! o_O I liked to have our fries dipped in that cheesy goop!

Yep. I went in October and it was gone. I definitely let them know how I felt about it. Was not a happy camper.

It has been gone for awhile now. I've heard 2 different reasons, one being guest safety and another being cleanliness. The cheese was kept super hot and people were getting burned. At the same time it is a mess to clean up. I'd believe both were a factor to it leaving.

A 2-year old got burned. There was a lawsuit. Disney settled out of court and the next day the cheese was gone.

Okay, apparently this was like the best plastic cheese ever and I missed it. I will go to my grave wondering what the stuff tasted like. ;)

Solution - go to Fudruckers (there's one at the far end of Hotel Plaza Blvd). Somehow they've managed to continue to offer it. Oh, and their burgers are pretty good too.

It tastes like plastic cheese the world over. Exactly the same as Fudruckers. I never had this mythical adoration that some people apparently get the one or two times I tried it, yep fake plastic cheese.

1) Two reasons
. . . there was ONE lawsuit claiming the cheese was too hot and burned someone
. . . people buy some chips and go to the Fixings Bar for the cheese to make a free order of Nachos *
2) Disney also cut back on the other items, as folks were literally making a salad from the Fixings Bar. *

* Disney does not like giving away free food.

Isn't it easier than ever at Pecos Bill's? Also, were people putting gross cheese sauce on lettuce and saying it was a salad?!?!

Another theory was that it contained bad fats (trans fats maybe) that they were trying to eliminate from all food at WDW.

That doesn't explain why they aren't just selling it behind the counter. Corn dog nuggets are literally our Disney snack. My husband would gladly pay 75cents - $1.00 for hot plastic cheese to dip our corn dog nuggets in and that isn't an option.

If you know anyone who does the ordering, do tell them we will be happy to be "nickeled and dimed" when we arrive on January 11th.

It wasn't, but the corn dog nuggets are useless without it...

Mustard. Corndogs with mustard are a tiny slice of heaven. I've never been a fan of plastic cheese on meat (I use it for things like pretzels and seriously gross nachos) and mustard does nicely. Might be worth a shot since the plastic cheese is unlikely to make it back quickly enough for your stay.

I HATE mustard, but it might work for my husband. He's the one all about the corn dog nuggets anyway.

He's not even on Disboards, but he said "Maybe since the nuggets have gone away, I need to try a dole whip again. Everyone seems all about those darn things...."

It amazes me how cheap some people are. I would see people at the work cafeteria go up to the fixings bar to put stuff on their sandwich they brought from home. Those people will be the first to complain when prices go up to compensate for their theft.
