Mel's Unflashy June 2008 TR: Funnel cakes have fewer calories in FL. Updated 12/2!!

During the wait in line (which was almost an hour!!!!) we see this woman:

100_1394-1.jpg

I know there was more to this update...but I couldn't focus after this.

EXCEPT...

What is WOW time??? :confused3

I cannot recall if I've posted on your TR or not, but, if I haven't, I'm reading along and enjoying each bit! I'm looking forward to reading about Bob's adventure. The pic of the fashionably challenged woman made me laugh out loud!

Wow... that woman...

Good update, though. I'm a big believer in rope drops, but good for you for sleeping in!

I'm feeling your angst over the arrival at CR. ;)

During the wait in line (which was almost an hour!!!!)
An hour :faint: wow that's longer than Soarin and TT!!!

OMG she has every colour and pattern on :rotfl2:

If you need to know what WOW time is, you can ask later..... :sad2:
You knew I'd ask Mel didn't you :rotfl:

I don’t know how we arrived. That’s not really important. Well, it wasn’t until I thought about it for an hour or so today and now it’s THE MOST IMPORTANT FACT THAT I CAN’T RECALL about our entire trip. It’s driving me crazy! I know, it shouldn’t matter. How many ways can you actually GET to the CR from BWV?
Isn't it annoying :headache:

As we arrived, the nice man at the desk said that they were canceling all the boating and para-sailing due to a huge dangerous thunderstorm that was coming in.
Better to be safe than sorry, it would have helped if they'd have called you though!

Well this trip sure was chock full o' above and beyond disney stuff! Nice planning mel!

And I can not believe they WoW-ed during vacation!!!! AT least the internet is free for DVC members tho huh?!

Sorry to hear about your sons panic attacks and hope that you can get him some help with them.
O.K., do you ever wonder what people are thinking when they get dressed in the morning? Like "I think that this flowered skirt would go great with these striped pajama bottoms! I look FIERCE in this outfit!!" What?  I'm so happy you took a picture of that. I would love to do more of that!!!! Too funny:rotfl:

I know it’s been FOREVER since I wrote an update! Things have been very weird here. For those of you whom I don’t see on other pages, my son (SD) has been having a pretty hard time. He’s having terrible panic attacks that leave him just an absolute wreck. Hopefully, we will see a decrease in them once he sees the pediatric psychiatrist, but for now we are all in crisis-mode. :guilty:
 How did his weekend go?

I love this picture!! :lovestruc

Groucho glasses applied to protect the innocent, but fashionably challenged. Yeah, I cut the top of her crocheted cowboy hat off. Ooops.
I`m glad you mention that the groucho glasses were applied later to the picture!! I thought she/he was actually wearing them! :lmao:

That Sprite was NOT doing the trick. I know what I need. :scratchin
lapulapu.jpg

OK, this is how many....

1. Bus to MK, then walk to CR
2. Bus to MK, then walk to monorail, then monorail to CR
3. Bus to MK, then boat to CR from dock in front of MK
4. Taxi from BWV to CR
5. Get Minivan out of valet-jail and drive to CR
6. Walk to International Gateway (at EPCOT) and then walk through park to Monorail and get off at TTC. Then monrail to CR.
7. Boat to International Gateway, then monorail to TTC, then monorail to CR
8. Go through EPCOT (UGH) and then take a bus to MK, then walk to CR or monorail or boat to CR
:faint: nicw job putting that list together BTW! :thumbsup2

Bummer on the cancellation.

Don’t you feel lucky? Yes, you do!

Remember the Polar Bear on the building along the side of 290 (I think it's near the Hope Ave. Exit)?? The college students would shoot the poor thing and deflate it every year!

Bob worked at the Fair too. He pushed carts. Seriously, if you ask him what he did at the Fair, he'll say he pushed carts. The whole time.

MEL:banana:

SO, apparently while Bob was pushing carts, he was ALSO shooting the Polar Bear. Shame shame shame, Bob! Bad Bob! :sad2:

I'm always happy to see you, Mel!

I've only done a few rope drops in my lifetime, but I know we've got a DIS meet scheduled in October at rope drop at Epcot. It's on our first full day there though, which will make it easier, I think. Everyone will be "too excited to sleep!"

Wow, I'd have to say that Goofy's Barnstormer was not the answer I expected! I love that ride too, but it's only 43 seconds long! My second favorites include Test Track, RNRC and Everest. What can I say? I love roller coasters!

Thanks Jodi! You are the thrill seeker, huh? Yeah, why is Barnstormer only 43 seconds long????? It's so fun!!!

I'm happy to see you too !! Soarin' is my FAV. too !! I started my PTR yesterday !!Booked my trip for next May !!!!

Yahoo Rosie!!! Have fun! Soarin' is so great. Makes me smile just thinking of it.

great update and pics.

I love Soarin'.

Thanks Scott! Yep, it's the best! I love the Orange Smell....:goodvibes

:rotfl: What is that woman wearing!

I really enjoy Soarin as well, it is a great relaxing ride.

Well, it's only relaxing if there isn't a BIG ANGRY GUY on it with you, right Kat?

I think that woman is wearing:
A crocheted cowboy hat
glasses
a black Minnie Mouse Tshirt
a calf-length, floral (pajama material) skirt
a pair of green and white striped leggings
hot pink crocs
a necklace
ten bracelets and
a messenger bag.

Oh, and Groucho Marx glasses.

:yay: An update.'

Too band para-sailing was cancelled but at least they were able to reschedule:thumbsup2

As forgetting how you got there...at least you took notes

Yeah. Notes did not help. LOL.
They had my cell number, but they didn't call us. Weird huh?

I know there was more to this update...but I couldn't focus after this.

EXCEPT...

What is WOW time??? :confused3

I couldn't focus either. It was too funny!

World of Warcraft time. It's an online roll-playing battle sort of game. Katt's dh Kc plays too. The kids and Bob are addicted. It's really sad. I think someone needs to start a 12 step program....

I cannot recall if I've posted on your TR or not, but, if I haven't, I'm reading along and enjoying each bit! I'm looking forward to reading about Bob's adventure. The pic of the fashionably challenged woman made me laugh out loud!

I don't recall you posting before! :welcome:

Bob's going to type his adventure up this week for me. Hopefully...

Wow... that woman...

Good update, though. I'm a big believer in rope drops, but good for you for sleeping in!

I'm feeling your angst over the arrival at CR.

Thanks CE! Rope drops are cool, I'd do them if I was there alone...but no one will go with me. So sad!

An hour :faint: wow that's longer than Soarin and TT!!!

OMG she has every colour and pattern on :rotfl2:

You knew I'd ask Mel didn't you :rotfl:

Isn't it annoying :headache:

Better to be safe than sorry, it would have helped if they'd have called you though!

See G-luv's answer above for what WOW time is!
Yes, it would have been nice for them to call us. I think that woman dressed that way on purpose. LOL.

Well this trip sure was chock full o' above and beyond disney stuff! Nice planning mel!

And I can not believe they WoW-ed during vacation!!!! AT least the internet is free for DVC members tho huh?!

Thanks Kat! That means alot from someone else who's great at planning. Surely it's our OCD?

Yes, thank god for free internet. I was NOT paying 10 dollars a day for WOW!!!!

Thanks for the kind words.

I always say that to Bob, "Did they look in the mirror and say,'Darn, I am hot!!!' ?" Crazy!

 How did his weekend go?

I love this picture!! :lovestruc

Thanks Carrie. I laughed out loud when I read that you thought she was wearing the glasses!!!! HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

SD is going along ok. He's at school right now and how he is, is a complete mystery to me....

Thanks. You know, it's really amazing when you consider HOW MANY ways you can travel around WDW...

MEL:banana:

I know it’s been FOREVER since I wrote an update!
And close to forever for me to read and reply. :guilty: Sorry - I stuck it in my Favorites to come back to and then it got buried.

It was so nice to have a DVC room, with kitchen, so we could have tea.
:rotfl2: Why is this funny? Well, because I've been bugging people the past few days as I try to decide whether I want a studio or 1 bedroom on a future trip. So I read this and immediately put a mental check mark next to 1 bedroom!

Lunch at Sunshine Seasons is a MUST on every trip for our entire family! We love the variety, the fresh veggies (some grown right there, in the LAND pavilion), and though it’s usually a madhouse at lunchtime, there is always a place to sit.
I love the offerings here, but wish they'd install something to reduce the noise level. Really, if I eat there during the rush I leave with the beginnings of a migraine. Not good. :sad2:

DUDE! Look at the guy above and slightly to your left... tell me that's not George Bush Sr.?! :rotfl:

Bob The Human Lightning Rod. Kind of catchy, but probably not real comfortable. Good call on putting off the para-sailing. ;)

oh, i didn't know you were there the same time as me??? how did you get my picture without me knowing????? what? you don't like my outfit??? :sad1: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I thought I was subbed, but I guess I wasn't. :confused3 Must know abut UnBOB. I'll be back to read soon.

LOL, I can't remember! I'm thinking T, but not at all sure...
Yup, that would be me. But someone else told me, I can't remember who! :lmao: That day is kinda fuzzy. :teeth:
He said, "Think about the Nightstalker."
Ok, don't tell a girl from California to think of the Nightstalker. That would be Richard Ramirez - the crazy killer from CA! :lmao: Bob doesn't look like a Richard Ramirez.

Did you know Waldo is actually BOB? That ought to keep Rachel busy for a while. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

LY, Rach! ;)
Isn't your name Rosalie? :scratchin Or maybe I just have Twilight on the brain. :rotfl:
:rotfl2:
Feel free to call him Darren all you want now.
Nope, he's Bob for life, Mel. If that is in fact your real name. :smooth:

:rotfl2:

OK, now I get the whole NOt Bob thing in other reports:headache:

BTW, I loved the Nightstalker show, yeah I'm a nerd. SCIFI used to show it at one time.

OK, back to the regularly scheduled trip report...

Yay for an update! I can't wait to read another one of "Bob's" reports! And weird outfit on that lady. The only thing worse I saw at WDW was a girl around 11/12 that was a little pudgy and was wearing a two piece bathing suit at the park! I thought that was weird enough, but then I noticed a certain stain on a certain spot on the rear of the suit. DBF thought I should take a pic to put in my report, but I just felt bad for the poor thing! And who would let their kid walk around in a bathing suit all day! It was Hollywood studios!

~Beka~

I've seen kids walking around in bathing suits at the different parks too, and not just little kids. I would have some serious chub rub and would be totally embarrassed (can't spell that word) to be in my full bathing suit. I've seen adults in bikini tops too, but whatever.

I'm convinced that some people either like the attention or don't use mirrors.

We noticed quite a few 'ladies' in heels - Crazy! Some mothers actually put their little princesses in heels also - so sad! OK for pics, not for walkin' across the park!

Love the update!!

Definitely a kind gesture to protect the innocent. Agreed that she's challenged. I think she needs WNTW!

I too love Itsakadoosies. Yummo!

Finally I'm caught up. :cool1: Some people are way fashion challenged.:rotfl: My DD(13) would have died of mortification if anyone in "her" group (i.e. younger DD as she had been known to do when she was four) were to dress that way. :rotfl2:
