Did anyone else see her performance on the Grammy's? It took alot of courage for her to get on that stage and sing. I thought it was incredible.

I turned it on in the middle of her performance. Is her head shaved because of cancer treatments? I thought the performance was amazing. I saw her perform in person once and it was a great show.

I'm not sure who the other singer was. I caught it during mid-performance. I had Desperate Housewives on and my DD came out to tell me Melissa was on. I would imagine she either lost her hair due to her cancer or she shaved it b/c of her treatments. She is one courageous woman though.

Yeah - she just finished Chemo about a month ago.

Yes, God bless her. I loved the vocal pairing with her and Joss Stone, but it makes my heart ache to see her without her hair. She wrote recently on her fan site's message board that she had completed her chemo and was starting radiation. I know it's just hair and it will grow back, but it's hard to see your hero weakened. Melissa Etheridge is one of my last remaining heroes of my youth. I remember the first time I saw her....it was on the Grammy Awards about 15 years or so ago. I had never heard her music or seen her anywhere before, but I made the girls in my dorm tv room shut up so that I could listen to this little woman with the big voice ROCK that stage. I was hooked.

Melissa was awesome! When she stepped out on that stage with her bald head it just warmed my heart, you go girl! What an inspiration, she rocked.

Melissa can sing Janis Joplin so well. I must say that I was shocked to see her completely bald. I didn't know she was undergoing treatment and wondered if it was some sort of statement.
