Megan's Graduation

so proud of my girl! few tears for me! the school put on a very nice ceremony~

before school - curled her hair, but it didn't last for graduation

I unfortunatly didn't get a photo of her receiving her diploma thanks to the mom in front of me decided to stand up rrrrr...
my mom, nephew and sil were there and had them over for cake afterwards....

can't believe she is heading to middle school in September...she is so excited to be moving up!

Today is Morgan's last day (early release). They don't do "graduation" ceremonies here until they are leaving for good

Lisa, Congrats to Megan!!! It's okay to shed a few tears, I know how it feels. Moving up is much harder on us than it is on the kids.

Megan is absolutely gorgeous!! Congrats Mom!!! She will do fine in middle school!!! If not, at least there are lots of us that are going to be a good support system next year!!!

Ok, off to get my basketball player ready for his game and discuss with my teen daughter that she has 1 hour to finish her room or lose her wheels!

Megan looks beautiful Lisa. How very proud of her you must be, and Jim is right there on her shoulder beaming with pride too.
After 34 yrs in middle school, it is a transition for kids to make, and she looks lke a confident young lady. I am sure she will do well. Caroline

thank you all for the happy wishes for Megan and boost for me!!! luckily they keep the 6th graders in their own section of school so its not as spread out as where the 7th & 8th graders are.
I know Jim was with us, as he always is, I know that't what kept me from being a sobbing mess.

two more full days and early release on Friday....can't wait for our summer to finally start.....just remind me of this in a month when she is driving me CRAZY

Thanks for sharing the photos. She looks like she had a good day and I'm sure she will fit in very well in middle school. Our school kept the 6th graders pretty much to themselves too, I think that really helps with their transition.

She looks so pretty! I love her dress. You went all out--flowers, cake etc. I bet she loved the attention and felt so special!

My oldest DD is going into 6th grade next year too. They have to switch to a new school but it's ALL 6TH GRADE (a whopping 520 kids). There is a big difference between a 6th grader and an 8th grader so I'm happy to "shelter" her from those influences for 1 more year. So if we need to support each other, just remember I'm in the same boat and pm me.

Wow that's a lot of 6th graders! Megan will have about 300! Ilove the fact they are kept seperated too, gives them a chance to "climatize" for the big school before being with the bigger kids and their influences!

I'm sure we will be leaning on each other and getting advice from our DIS friends who have survived middle school
