Mega in Cozumel

DH and I like to wander when in port. We have been to Cozumel 4 times and always go North up the strip in Cozumel and shop. I like to buy a local tequila We always see the Mega store from the ship but have never walked that direction. If you have been to Mega is it worth the walk?

Also, from the DCL location is there good shopping worth exploring South of the pier toward the other Cruise line pier?

Mega is basically like a big Walmart. Little bit of everything. Worth the walk if there's something there you want or need.

I like Mega. I buy Mexican snacks and other stuff. Well worth the walk (not that it's that far, really) to peruse their selection. Be aware that if you have a backpack or other kind of bag, you will have to check it at the front desk and they'll put it in a locker. The liquor section is on the right side wall, about 2/3 of the way back from the front of the store.

That is great information. I never like leaving my bag anywhere and would not be comfortable doing it in a foreign country. So I'll make sure to bring cargo shorts. DH and I like to try local beers too so it may be worth exploring on our next trip.

Yes, they take US Dollars.

Don't forget to stop at Internacional Cerveceria, which is on the right as you're walking down the road to MEGA. They have beer from all over the world, including a ton of Mexican craft beer (I finally had Cuban beer there), free wi-fi and very friendly staff.

I like checking out different stores in different countries. We walked to Mega for some snacks and toiletries. It was fun and is always a good way to see what other countries sell in their stores. I like checkout out the Mexican sodas and beverages.

I was going to make this note as well. They wanted my hat and my small camera bag as well as my partner's backpack. I was like oh heck NO! So I waited with our stuff at the front of the store while he did a booze replenishment run (back when booze was allowed).
