Does anyone have any experience with this? I am taking my GD in February and it is so inexpensive. We are planning on going to the AG store, TRU, and FAO Schwartz. Does the bus land you anywhere near these places or do we need a taxi or subway to/from the bus station.

My other option is taking the train from Wilmington, De and not having to drive to Phila to catch the bus. Any one done this?

Thanks

The Mega Bus takes you to Penn Station. You can get public transport or a cab from Penn to 5th Ave/Rockefeller Plaza. Or you can walk, I'd guess 20 minutes or so walk through midtown. Lots to see along the way! :goodvibes

ETA: I missed the TRU part...you can walk from Penn to Times Square and then Rockefeller Plaza area. You'll want to get a Manhattan map and plot your course!

I've taken it from Baltimore a couple times, it's a cheap, efficient and great way to get to NYC.
Like the PP said, they drop you off at Madison Square Garden, then you will
start walking north to get to those places. It's really much easier (IMO) to walk than taxi or subway, it's really not too far. But then again I like walking and yes there is lots to see. Sensory overload at times, LOL.

I've taken Mega Bus from Boston to NYC with kids. There is free internet and the kids loved sitting in front of the top of the double decker. I was even happily surprised by seatbelts. The bus dropped us off right near Madison Square Garden. Just make sure you know where to get the bus for the return trip - mine was about two streets away from where we were dropped off.

Thanks for all the replies.

I think I am going to give it a try.

I have not dones mage bus but have done red eye trips there about 10 times. I have my dd that is 7 the last time and we did AG, TRU, FAO, etc. I think all of those are within walking distance. We spent about 3 hours at AG and also about 2 1/2 hours at a play so we did not walk the entire day. PM me if you want more details.

I've seen these buses, but honestly never rode it or know anyone who has.
Please tell me what you think of it. I'm considering taking it this summer!
