Meeting with your guide

Hey,

So it seems like some people meet up with their guide while they are down there visiting. We will be down there next month and would love to meet up with him to see the AKV models, and talk GCV. How do we go about getting a meeting with him? Do we call or just show up? TIA!

I'd give a call ahead of time. We've taken other people with us who, after seeing our accommodations, wanted to look into DVC, and we were able to set up a meeting with our guide just a day ahead of time. On our last trip, we went to see the models and someone else showed us around, but I'm wondering if that's because our guide was on vacation or busy with other appointments. We usually get a welcome call from him on our voice mail when we're there, and we didn't this last trip, so he may not have been around. I'd check just to be sure.

You need to call ahead of time to schedule a preview.

Our guide is great! When we are in WDW, she usually calls us to "Welcome us Home". We don't even tell here we are coming down, but she knows.

If anyone needs a great guide, just let me know. Mine is Nancy Barbee and she is a trooper, and has been there for us every time!

We scheduled a tour of the model units with our guide after we had already purchased. We had never taken the tour, and my parents were with us on that trip and wanted to see what the accommodations were like. He was more than happy to oblige. It was nice to get to see both the AKV and SSR units.

Same here! Sometimes even when we call him we have to wait several days to hear back.

Definitely call in advance. Like you, they get days off and vacation time and have other reasons for not being on property (mine just took a week trip to DLR to meet there and tour the GCV). It would be shame if you really wanted to meet up, and they weren't there!
