I have been beating my brains on this so I will let this board help me. We are arriving at MCO at 3:15pm from Detroit and my boys will be arriving at 3:30pm from Dallas. There is a "A" and a "B" side of the terminal correct? Where would a great meeting place be? Should we get off get our luggage and then go to the meeting spot? Should I go get the Rental, park it in the parking lot and go to the meeting place? Since this will be both groups 1st experience at this airport please help coordinate getting the 2 groups together? :confused3

Where you should meet depends on what airline you are flying. If both you and the other party are on the same airline, or one that shares the same satellite terminal, I'd suggest meeting at the gate of the plane that arrives later. Alternately, meet at baggage claim.

If you are on different airlines, then meeting at baggage claim is probably the best choice.

But, you mentioned renting a car and that puts a slightly different spin on it. Assuming you are renting from an on-airport agency (Avis, Nation, Budget, Dollar and Alamo) its best to meet at the baggage claim area of the person that rented the car since that's where you'll have to go to pick-up the car. And in answer to your further question; yes it is possible to send the driver over to get the car while you wait for the bags. The driver then loops around the airport and picks you up at the arriving passenger level. If the other party is on a different airline, then drive over there (possibly requiring a second loop around the airport) afterward to pick them up.

You may want to look at the layout on the official site for the Orlando Airport at http://www.orlandoairports.net/goaa/ops/term.htm

Hi,
Here's a map of the MCO Terminal:

I guess if I were to meet another party, I'd shoot for an area centrally located, such as directly under the big flight info. board, which would be right after exiting the monorail, but before going down one level to baggage claim.
As long as both parties understand not to head down to baggage level, and stay on the main terminal until meeting, that and cell phones would definitely help hone in on each other:)

Oops, sorry about the double posting of the map link, Jeff beat me to it,lol...

We always meet at the big fountain if we are not coming in to the same concourse. I think it's pretty much impossible to miss if you are flying domestically.

I am afraid we are coming in at opposite sides of the airport
we are coming in on Spirit
it is Security Check Point West Gates 30-59 Air Side 3 ticket baggage claim b
the boys are coming in on Air Tran
it is Security check point East gates 100-129 Air side 2 ticket baggage claim a
yep we are going to be at opposit corners.
Oh thanks for the maps those are nice maps to have.

Even though you're renting a car, and assuming your boys are old enough to navigate the airport on their own, I'd meet at the Magical Express check-in area. Why? Because there's only one, so no chance of getting confused between airport sides.
Or meet in the food court on level 3 - it APPEARS there's only one, in the middle of the terminal according to the map.

Sheraton lobby and use cell phones to make sure everyone is findable.
