Meeting rare characters

How do average people get to meet special characters? Is there a way to pay to meet them? On a popular website there was pictures of characters I would love to meet. I wondered how they got to meet them? In my few trips to Walt Disney World I have only seen those characters in the parade or a show. Can anyone help or direct me how this works?

Sometimes there were characters that used to meet and don't anymore, or only come out at certain times, or just came out for a test period. Those are some reasons why characters are rare. There is no way to see them except to be lucky and maybe some of them start coming out more often.

Which ones in particular are you looking for?

Someone may be able to give you tips on how you may find them.

Finding those rare elusive ones is very exciting! :Pinkbounc

Sometimes characters only come out for special appearences such as at holidays, after hours parties like MNSSHP or MVMCP, or sometimes just on random days. Most of the time it takes luck unless you want to try afterhour parties. What characters are you looking for?

Right. Lots of hard to find characters at MNSSHP.

Great time too, and well worth the money. You can enter the park as early as 4 p.m.

I seen photos of people meeting rare ones that I can only dream of! :cloud9: Some people here met Bear in the Big Blue House, but it was an event for special kids. Some here have met Tony from Lady and the Tramp, but it's part of a breakfast for large groups only. I saw photos of people meeting Clara Cluck at some special pin event at AK. I know others who met Merlin, The Grand Duke, and the King from Cinderella. Just plain luck for some; and some people are part of the right groups. But I think meeting most characters are just plain "right time at the right place" kind of thing!! :teeth:

Also, I swear some of these rare characters are a "flavor of the month/week" kind of thing. They make a few appearances over a span of a week or two or three; then disappear for months or years! Rare ones like Little John fit this pattern. So frustrating when you want a specific character! :faint:

It was on a popular site....it was listed under disney park characters. I'm not sure if I should put the website on here. Its not a bad site. It starts with my. I saw a picture of the 3 Pigs, Kuzco, Kronk, Jim Hawkins and B.E.N. and then I saw pictures of Belle and her Prince, Lumiere and The Fairies on another one.

It is definitely LUCK! When DW & I went in June to celebrate our Anniversary, we saw all kinds of neat/rare characters! But, when we took the kids back in August (for twice as long a stay), we only saw the "usual" ones! Although, I do think that the MK PM EMH may be a special time to meet characters - We were able to meet the Queen of Hearts & Maleficent during PM EMH in June!

ps - I think that it would be ok to list that "other" site so long as you are not trying to get someone to buy something or anything like that!
pps - HugsForEeyore's site is probably one of (if not THE) best sites for character pictures as well!

Actually, I would love to know the site, too! I been wanting to get a good look at that third pig I been missing! :teeth: B.E.N. and Jim Hawkings were out alot around January 2003, then disappeared, never to be seen again! But now that I think about it, I seen some websites made by castmembers, who have access to these super rare characters (who don't normally greet) behind the scenes - boy, those sites make me jealous! :teeth:

We met Rabbit from Pooh this trip!! I was so excited. Dh was too because he had to listen to me complain during the last few trips that we never get to meet Rabbit and he's my favorite pooh character! lol. We met him in the World Showcase at EPCOT. We also ran into Mickey there with NO LINE! The no line part was certainly rare!!! LOL!

I think I know the site you're talking about. The Pigs, Groove characters, and Treasure Planet characters are definatly rare ones. I don't think I've personally seen the Pigs out since 1994 and I've never seen the others in the parks. As for Belle and her Prince, I've olny seen the Prince once and that was because a performence of Cinderellabration was cancelled and the cast did meet-and-greets instead. I know sometimes guests who are friends with cast members will sometimes get special meet-and-greets with some of the show characters and I bet that's probably the case with the photos of Lumiere and the Fairies you saw. Unfortunatly they don't do regular meet-and-greets though.

i met belle's prince after cinderellabration and his name is prince vince :cool1: !! thats cool, if you do not believe me then ask belle next time you meet her.

i would put pics but i do not know how

Wow thanks for this info. Belles prince is called VINCE !!!! ive always wondered about this.
Cinders is prince charming, Auroa is Prince Phillip, but does anyone know what Snow whites prince is callled please?

Ive asked before, but no one on here eemed to know........... :confused3

Oddly enough Lindy Loo, Snow White's princes' name is just that: Prince (or The Prince). He has never had a formal name, even dating back to classic versions in literature.

actualy there is no official human name for Beast. I don't know why that Belle told you that. some debate his name is Vincent, others Adam. But officialy he is known as Belle's Prince. this is the way he was refered to in Cinderellabration as well.

Belle's Prince indeed has no name. When I met him, I actually asked if he had a name and he told me that he was just called The Prince. Snow White's prince also is known only as The Prince (and is very glad when you call him by that name insteed of Prince Charming too).

I wanna meet malificient or the queen ;)

I take it you mean the queen from Snow White. We saw her at MK doing pixs and she had a short line. My DDs and DW did not want her picture. :sad2:

Also saw beast at Epcot and DW didn't want to wait to get a picture. :sad2:

I was at WDW from 8-16 Sept.
