We are planning a WDW trip for later next year and are considering hopping over to US/IOA for 2 days. I have 2 questions:

1. My son is HUGE Captain America fan. Do the characters roam or are they in fixed locations like Disney? Meeting him is a big reason were even considering heading that way b/c he will be 5 at the time and I was kind of saving universal for when he gets older.

2. Would renting a car or taking a cab be the best choice for getting to and from those parks if we're staying at a WDW resort? We were even considering leaving Disney early and switching to a universal resort. I'm not really sure what the best plan would be...

thank you!!

Staying onsite at Universal is a fabulous way to be at the parks. You get in an hour early to Wizarding World every day, and you get unlimited Express Pass which is good on almost every ride now. (these perks are for the 3 resorts open now...not everything will be open to those staying at the Value resort Cabana Bay which isn't open yet)

I like this site: http://www.loewshotels.com/en/booking/uo?hotel=UEPBH,UEHRH,UERPR

The characters have set meeting places, but it's a lot more casual than at WDW in my opinion. From my experience they don't have handlers, but are really good at keeping things in order. At certain times during the day the road on superhero island is cleared and they all ride in on their 4 wheelers, park, and go to their meeting spots. It's very cool.

If he wants to meet Spiderman, though, he's off in an indoors photo spot. I highly recommend, IF you're doing to do a spidey meet&greet, to budget for a picture or look into their "photoconnect" product. Spiderman poses in front of a green screen. You are welcome to take your own pictures, but it's very boring if you do that. The photo people add in a backdrop and things like webs coming from hands, if you buy the picture.

But Spiderman is the only kept in a room like that. The others are outside.

Thank you! He loves Spidey too so we will definitely budget for a pic with him:)

We did photoconnect and really liked it. The pictures were great. Not as many as at WDW, but the cost was a lot less. I recommend getting to the marvel area before a show. We just happened to be waiting for my dd and dh to finish on a ride(Dr. Doom) that my ds was too small to ride. Many of the characters(villans anyway) are walking around before the show begins. We got a lot of great shots. The Green Goblin was so creepy my ds would only pose with him if I stood by him and I admit he freaked me out a little!! ;) Then after the show you wait in line to meet the Superheros. The lines are long and they leave after a bit until the next show so pick your favorites. My ds LOVES the superheroes and it was so fun meeting his favorite Captain America. They were just as great with interaction as the Characters in WDW. Totally in character and great with the kids.

Sounds great! My son would be ecstatic to meet any of them...and the villains too! Lol
