Meet Merida - How long is her wait?

If we arrive to meet Merida a little before she starts meeting people (usually 9:15?) - is the wait typically quite long?

In November we got to her area a few minutes before 9. There were already a few groups waiting, but we met her by 9:30.

That sounds about right. If you get there before she gets there, then the queue build up will be substantially shorter. Once she shows up, lots more people start entering the queue.

We went to MK at rope drop. When everyone else went to A&E and 7DMT, we went to Merida. We were the first family there and our only wait was waiting for the meet and greet to open. Merida opened the gate and took my DD7 by the hand and walked with her up to her spot. We were so caught up in the interaction with her that we forgot to get her autograph! LOL. I just handed the book to the CM and she got it for us. It was so awesome and my DD loved it!!

Good to know! Straight to Merida at RD is our plan since we have A&E & C&R FP+!

I normally go to the merida line while DH and DD will go and do a couple of rides in fantasyland and come back for about 9.10am - it works a treat.

What my family always does is hit her right at rope drop (9am). Since my wife hates the spinning on the tea cups I always take my little girl for a quick spin and then rejoin mom. We are usually one of the first 3 families to meet her.

What about when RD is at 8am? (Not EMH but actual opening) Disney just extended hours the day we were planning on going right to Merida at RD and Merida usually doesn't start until 9:15.

We met Merida yesterday and arrived at park open since she was our must-do that day (9am open, so we were in line around 8:55). We were first in line. By the time she opened the doors to meet people, there were maybe 7-8 families behind us in line. We didn't need to go first but wanted to make sure that we met her and got to continue on to Gaston later! No one else even showed up for a good five minutes after we did.

I would probably show up around 15 minutes early. You'd still have an hour to do some rides :)

Wonderful to hear! We're going to try and hit up Mine Train and Peter Pan at 8am then! :)
