Ok so after much deliberation about when to start this, I figured after today, why not? I'll explain that later.

The Start:
Me and DF have been together since the start of my senior year of high school, October 19th, 2004. We met the year before through friends. (I'll give you the shorter-long version to keep you occupied). So in the beginning of my senior year, one of my friends like DF and wanted me to help set them up, which I thought was weird since I barely talked to him at all ever. So I was asked to see if he'd want to go to the mall with us one day after school just to hang out. So I sent him a message on aim and he said that he'd go but he knew my friend liked him and he didn't like her that way. So I told my friend that and she said it was fine and still wanted to go. So I ended up going to the movies and told DF that I'd see him the next day, but when I got home from the movies he said he waited up to talk to me more and we ended up planning on hanging out after the mall.. eep! haha

Now at this point, I wasn't really looking for any kind of relationship. I wasn't really a fan of high school relationships. All the ones I've seen never seemed to amount to anything, so I figured that it could wait. Well, the next day we did the mall thing and my friend never even tried to talk to him or anything. It was so awkward.. so we dropped my friend off then went back to my house to watch a movie. I needed to be home to watch my sister while my mom went to some church thing. So when my mom got home at 9, me and DF ended up just going out, driving around, and talking til like 2am, same thing the next night. That weekend he was going to a concert with his friend in Maryland, but sent me cute text messages all weekend about how he missed me and couldn't wait to see me.. and that's when I was hooked haha. We went up to this lake I love on Monday night and when we got home, he asked me out.. and we've been together ever since.

The Wedding (so far):
My Valentine's Day present was for DF to agree to a date haha. So we decided on October 19, 2009. The most important thing to me is the date.. I really want October 19th because it's our anniversary. The day that we have our wedding will be our 5th anniversary and that just makes it more special for me :goodvibes

It's going to be a non-religious intimate/escape wedding with just DF and myself. It works out better financially for just the two of us to go and then have a honeymoon, then have a dinner/reception with everyone when we get home. Plus, this way *certain* family that loves Disney also won't camp out while we're on our honeymoon and want to see us all the time. I have no problem with family trips, but it's our honeymoon! haha.

I really like Sea Breeze Point, so we're planning on that at the moment. We'll be going on a vacation to Disney in April, and I got the ok from DF to check out the locations *yay* I really don't have much else location or time-wise planned, but the more I figure out, be sure I'll let you know.:thumbsup2

My Call to Disney:
Also, I know we're about 20 months out, but I think I got a lottt covered (thanks to everyone on here!). But I took some good advice and called the Disney wedding people and told them that even though I know its reeeally far in advance, but I just wanted to know what I had to do to make sure I could reserve my date and location and they actually took down my info and "penciled it in!!!" I was told one of the "specialists" will be calling me Monday or Tuesday. I can't wait!!

Since I rambled enough for now, I'll save my other ideas and thoughts for later. I do have 1 dress that I absolutely love, and another kind of style that I really like, I'm torn! But again, I'll save that for later.

:goodvibes

Yea Congrats.. DF and I are High school sweethearts as well. We will be engaged 2 years when we get married and I called 23 months ahead, but let me just say it goes by so fast. I am now 7 1/2 months away. I just received my Letter of Agreement, Good Luck to you and post your wedding dress, cant wait to see it

Oh btw, here's a picture of us from Christmas 2006.

We got engaged about 2 weeks before that.

As for that story, we had been talking about it for a while and DF kept saying it was coming and would be within the next few months, but he wouldn't say when. He wanted to make sure I had a ring I loved. So one night.. out of no where.. he said "come on, we're going to get you a ring." and I was like.. *shocked* I couldn't stop smiling, like ridiculously happy smiling. He's not too lovey-mushey, but honestly it was a lot sweeter and cuter than it sounds. You just have to know him  Don't get me wrong, he is definitely very affectionate and lovey, I guess its just when he's nervous? haha Aw I just love him sooo much.

So yeah, that's that.. until next time!

Congrats! You two look really good together! My DF and I were also high school sweethearts! Can't wait to hear all your plans!

Congrats! DF and I are also High school sweethearts. Our wedding day will be our 6 year anniversary [06/24/08] :lovestruc Keep us updated on new things you come up with.....and include lots of pics! :thumbsup2

Congratulations!!!

You two make a really cute couple!

Can't wait to see all the choices you make for your wedding!

Congrats on your engagement!Good start on your PJ. I cant wait to read more :)

Congrats! I can't wait to follow along on your planning!

Hello again, I have a little bit more time and I figured I'd fill you in on a few more thing haha.

Why Disney:
DF has been going to Disney at least once a year with his family since he was like 5 or 6 or so, so he's definitly a Disney lifer haha. My first trip was when I was 16 with family, then again the following year with family, and I honestly didn't like it. All my cousins and such are a lot younger than me, and it was just really boring. So then we decided we wanted a vacation and DF said he only wanted to go to Disney. I was like.. you've got to be kidding me? But agreed to it anyway. We ended up going for Thanksgiving in 2006 and all I have to say was.. it was amazing. It was so much fun. We even added an extra night onto our room after the first couple days because I didn't want to leave haha. We then went again in May 2007 for my birthday, and again.. soo much fun. We just have so much fun together there and it's just really great haha.

DF said he really wanted a Disney wedding, but the price kind of scared me away. Plus I really didn't want a Disney wedding. I just figured it would be very childish with characters and such everywhere, but I agreed to a Disney honeymoon. I looked around Orlando for some wedding locations, for just the 2 of us, but once everything was all added it, it was way more expensive than Disney. Then the more I looked into Disney weddings, the more I fell in love with the idea and now here I am.. planning a Disney wedding :goodvibes

My engagement ring:

There's a bigger picture on page 37 (I believe) of the e-ring thread.

Now we were engaged in December 2006, but never picked a date. We wanted to wait until I'd be done school, so we figured we'd just wait til it got closer to that. But the more and more I felt I did want a Disney wedding, I knew we'd have to pick something (at least a year in advance) so it could be reserved. So my Valentine's Day present this year was us picking our date, and I can honestly say it is the bext present everrrr!!

Ok, now on to other things. My cousin and I went to a place to just take a look at dresses last weekend, just to get a feel for what I should be looking for. I found that I really love A-line dresses are perfect for me. We tried on a bunch, and I really liked this chiffon summery one. Its really pretty and really me (maybe with a little less detail onthe dress though) This is the closest that I could find to it.

However... I saw this one in a magazine and fell in love instantly!! i absolutely love the green and it's so simple, yet elegant to me. I love how the back laces up. I could only get a picture of the front in red.. but you get the idea.

So I'm torn between those 2 dresses. Well the one dress and the other style. I really love them both. the one seems more summery though, and our wedding is in October, but I just don't know! Decisions, decisions.. It's definitly a good thing I have all this time to decide and keep looking haha.

Also, this is the wedding ring that goes with my engagement ring.

It's not that great of a picture, so I found a picture of it with another e-ring. That e-ring is just like mine except it doesn't have the 2 extra side stones.

So that's pretty much all for now. I don't think there's really anything else I can post at the moment. I can't pick my bouquet until I pick my dress haha, because if I decide to go with the green one, I want to make sure everything goes together nicely.

I might post more if I have any thoughts I just want to save, but I doubt that will happen yet. My next post will probably be after I hear from the Disney people Monday or Tuesday next week.

I'll keep you posted :)

Here's another picture of us.. I love this one, DF doesn't, he says the tux makes his shoulders look too broad haha and he doesn't like his hair but, but its my favorite picture of us!

blacktie1.jpg

That was for the black tie tailgate, which is the night before the Philadelphia autoshow opens to the public. My uncle is on the board and gets free tickets.. trust me, if we weren’t offered tickets, there’s no way we could have gone haha.

I love your PJ so far!! I'm so glad they were able to pencil you in for your date. :) I can't wait to read all about your planning and ideas!!! Congrats!

haha I'm glad you like it. I ramble way too much when I'm excited... if you couldn't tell :P:rotfl:

Yeah, another 2009 bride! Joining in, everything looks great so far! Can't wait to se the rest of your plans!

So I got a call back from a coordinator already. The woman I spoke with yesterday said it probably wouldn't be until early next week, so wow.. that was fast haha. (probably because I'm too far out to really plan anything) but still!

So now I just have to write down all the questions I want to ask haha.

Will I be working with this person until I am assigned a planner?

Ok so after work, I called the coordinator back to figure out how to get the ball rolling with all this. She did say that nothing can be reserved until a year before (which I already knew both from the Disney site, and all you guys), but I still wanted to double check all my questions.

So if anyone's interested, I found out that if you substitute Disney's photo service for a Honeymoon Session, you only get a half hour at one of the parks, in casual attire, and you only get 2 5x7's out of that.

She answered everything else in a way that makes me feel confident about everything going smoothly haha. I did ask if she had anymore information (besides the brochure) to send me for something to look over, but she said that there's not really anything they have until something is booked. She did, however, send me a list of FAQs for escape weddings. She said they usually help people to think of more questions and I did.. haha I have like 2 or 3 more to ask now, so maybe tomorrow I'll send an email so I don't forget my questions.

I don't know, ever since we decided this for sure and have started working on it, I've just been really excited and happy. It couldn't get any better :cloud9:

Congratulations. I just wanted to say that I really like the first dress. I'm sure you will be able to find something like that with a lace up back.

I never wanted a lace up back but because we moved the wedding to Florida they are now making my dress with a lace up back incase my waist expands with the heat and the food :)

Congratulations!! I'm getting married 10/24/09, so we will share the wait together!!

haha I'm hoping it goes by fast!! but then again, I'm loving this excitment right now.

I love the first dress. My dress has that same sheer overlay!
