I just tried to book my excursions at 75 days out and the only ones I noticed (the ones I wanted) that were sold out were Rome: Jumping back to eternal rome (capacity is 150 or close) and La Spezia: Florence and Pisa.
The La Spezia one really got me cause it's the only excursion that goes to both.
Also, for all you first timers...don't hope to get ANY palo reservations. They had none available, not dinner, brunch or tea. If you can try to hook up with a suite or castaway person and have them make a group one to include you. Thats what I did, not knowing that I wouldn't be able to get an additional date.
Here is a copy of the email I sent to DCL. I was one of many "first timers" who sent in complaints.
I called this morning regarding the fact that the excursions that I wanted were not coming up online at 12:01am as I hit the 75 day mark for my cruise this summer. The CM and Supervisor clearly explained to me that the reason for this was that those excursions were sold out. I couldn't believe that the minute I was able to book excursions they were already sold out. Of course, they explained that there were people ahead of me, suite holders and castaway, which I knew had the ability to reserve. WHY would DCL not save spaces for new cruisers to book excursions? This really puts a bad taste for people who have never cruised you lines before. Additionally, the kind CM and Supervisor also let me know that there were NO WAITLIST capabilities AND if I wanted to check the website to see if space opened on the excursions that I wanted, then I would have to cancel my BACK UP's running the risk that I would then be excursionless for the trip. I am floored by this practice at disney. I have been on several other cruise lines and have never had these problems. I do understand that excursions book up, but the fact that you can't WAITLIST or even call on the phone to check before you give away your space on another excursion is UNACCEPTABLE. Additionally, if that excursion is open as of cruise time you would PENALIZE your guests and make them pay for both. I thought your lines were trying to sell that it's not about the kids only. It certainly seems that you aren't trying to please the adults either. Again, the CM and supervisor I spoke with were very nice and seemed sincerely apologetic, but were little help as DCL does not offer the little services that would put your customer service on par with other cruise lines.
Sincerely,
Stephanie

. we were also moving that weekend and by the time we woke up our phone and DSL were disconnected.
so my husband was able to get on at work around 9am central time. we were able to book all of our excursions, but the only palo was avalable when we wouldn't be on the ship. about 5 days later i decided to add on a spa treatment (the exotic rasul?) and had no problem doing that for our day at sardina.
