We are booked for Medieval Times in June. We paid for the upgrade seats. The Show starts at 6:30 but I was told to be in line at 5:00 to get the front row. Can anyone tell me if we will be in line for all that time or what goes on? Thanks.

I don't have an answer for you. However, I am going to bump this back to the top and see if someone can help you. :)

Hi, We love Medieval Times!

The VIP seats are the first 3 rows (I think), so yes, if you want the 1st row, get there early. You are issued numbers when you get there, so if you are late, you could be as far back as the 3rd row. Still great seats. We sat on the front row & the only benifit was our knight gave roses to our girls 1st.

During the time that you are waiting to be seated, you are pretty much just hanging out in the lobby. There is LOTS to buy and if you are a drinker, the bar is open. They also have knighting & princess ceremonies. We got the princess ceremony for our DD. Priceless! The king brought her out in front of everyone & had her kneel in front of him. (she knelt down & put her hands in front of her like she was praying, very serious. she brought the house down!)
They proclaimed her a princess (did the sword touch on each shoulder like the knighting ceremony), then they presented her with a princess hat.

You will have a great time, but the gift shop can get expensive quickly. Be sure to save money for the pictures they take of you when you enter. They bring them to you during your meal. I won't tell you what they do to them, but it's cute. Hope this helped, Sbella

kilee thanks for the bump!

southernbelle thanks for the great info. Please tell me more about the Princess Ceremony. My girls are princess: 9 & princess: 11. They want to wear gowns...which we do not have. How much was it?

Hi MAKmom, I don't remember the exact amount, but I think it was about $30. The princess hat alone was about $20, so the ceremony was well worth the extra money. Make sure you pick out the hat you want ahead of time or they just pick one for you.

As far as wearing princess dresses, we didn't. They put a robe around you when they do the ceremony (it's long, so you probably wouldn't see much of their dresses). Don't think Disney princess, think renaissance fair. If your girls wanted to dress up, they wouldn't feel out of place IMO. When my DH did this for my birthday, I was in t-shirt & shorts. BTW, Big princess get their choice of the princess hat or 2 goblets. I went for the goblets ;) .

Overall, out of ALL of the stuff you could do or buy, I thought the princess ceremony was worth every penny. Medieval Times is a nickel & dime you kind of place, so be warned. I would set a spending limit before going in.

I hope you have a good time. The show is great & the food is good too. Say hi to the green knight for me!LOL If you need any more help, just ask. Sbella

Thanks for the info. I'm glad you told me about the robe. I was telling the girls it was going to be so hot in June. DD 11 is great for changing her mind at the last minute... after I have bought/ of made an outfit. I told DH about this he liked it. I can't wait. We got the Clear channel 2 for 1 tickets.

Do they do the ceremony durning the show or before?

The ceremony is before. You sign up when you get there and then they call your name. FYI! make sure that you check the name on the certificate before you leave. They deliver them with the pictures during the show and it's dark in there. We had my DS knighted for his birthday and I printed his name out. Jonathan and it came to me spelled Johnathon. It was dark and I didn't really see it till we looked when we got home that night.
