Anyone have a work at home job being a Medical Transcriptionist? If so can you give me any advice or let me know what training or schooling you had to take. I've seen several ads for information on doing this but most want money upfront and I'm not sure how trustworthy places like that are. I currently have a part-time job that is 2 days a week plus I fill in for my boss on a day by day basis so I'm looking for something a bit flexible. A big part of my time at work is booooooooorrrrrriiiiiiing :o but I need to be there to answer the phone and help anyone that comes into the office. So I was thinking if the medical transcribing job was something I could do on my laptop I could do it anywhere....even while at my other job.

Thanks

I work in a physician office, I do not do transcription...however, the background that most hospitals, medical office's are looking for is someone with "some" medical background, or at least have medical terminology. The physicians in our office, dictate on a certain phone line, and my physicians are good about spelling medical words for the transciptionist. But I belive that you could do this on your laptop. It would be a great at home job for you.

Good luck...

Denise

I already do ambulance billing so that might help. I might look into a night class locally.

Thanks
