I know this isnt a medical board, but I wanted to ask if anyone has had a DD with the same issue. DD4 has been peeing alot lately...when I say alot...I mean yesterday, like 30 times...and she's actually going. I did just take her to the doctor, initial culture and all exams on her (sugar, bacteria, backed up, fever, etc) all fine. Dr. said they'd sent it away to double check, but she's stumped even. Anyone ever go thru this? Maybe its just a fluke and will go away or maybe just stress, starting school?

could be a urinarty tract infection (but the cultures are'nt showing yet). i know that as an adult this is the way mine have started out (keep feeling the need to go, nothing happens) within a week i end up at the doctor and the culture shows positive.

make sure she knows to tell you if it hurts when she is successful at urinating.

If DD was DS, I'd guess prostate infection. I had one when I was about 8, and I constantly felt the need to urinate.

But being it's your DD, I'd go with bladder or kidney infection that is just too early to catch on a culture.

My guess would be a urinary tract infection that is just starting, too. My daughter had numerous kidney issues and surgeries for years. When she has an increase in urination, it has always turned out to be a UTI. Our doctor will actually do a look-see under a microscope during the office visit to check for bacteria.

It could be a symptom of a bladder problem. If it persists, I would suggest a work up by a pediatric urologist. Kids can pee a lot if they are having pain or discomfort, but it may not necessarily be due to a UTI.

If it continues I would get a referral to a urologist. Could be a UTI or Kidney infection but could also be spastic bladder. We experienced this with my son. he was potty trained then started having many accidents and had to pee all the time. Started out as a UTI and then once that was cleared still had the problem-after further testing he had kidney rflux (some urine goes back into the kidney in stead of evacuating) and a spastic bladder. Was an issue for several years but was controlled with medication and he has now seemed to have outgrown the worst of it. Don't want to scare you, just want you to take it very seriously. We missed many of the symptoms from kidney/bladder infections when he was an infant and he has ended up with some kidney damage as a result.

Thank you all for responses..last night she started getting better, and today, has gone a normal amount of 3 times so far (as opposed to 10 or so). I'll wait for the results from the lab and definitely keep an eye on her. Thanks!
