Do all wounds feel warm as they heal?

I cut off a bit of finger this weekend. 'bout as big around as a coffee bean, but thinner. No bone, no nail, just the soft tip. Wow, did it bleed. Anyway, I've been keeping it dry and putting on Neosporin at night. It feels warm this afternoon. Doesn't hurt any more than usual. Maybe a little red. No pus.

Does it sound infected, or healing?

Sounds like it's healing to me. Often time and especially after surgery, the incision site will have a burning sensation.

Keep a close eye on it and if you notice anything unusual (swelling, extreme redness, fever, any type of odd discharge) get to a doctor ASAP.

Good luck and YIKES, that must have really hurt!
