Medical issue on the Wonder - now missing a port.

@EPeel
For any Europeans on the cruise, this is the information they need to know. UK and Ireland are not affected, and the Irish Government has stated that all flights from Ireland to USA are operating as scheduled

The travel ban specifies the Schengen area of Europe, the 26 countries of central Europe which have open borders. The ban does not include The UK as The UK is not part of the Schengen area and implies that it also does not include Ireland. Ireland is also not in the Schengen area and the island of Ireland is the only country NOT connected by a land border.

These are the countries in the Schengen area which are affected by the ban

  1. Austria
  2. Belguim
  3. Czech Republic
  4. Denmark
  5. Estonia
  6. Finland
  7. France
  8. Germany
  9. Greece
  10. Hungry
  11. Iceland
  12. Italy
  13. Latvia
  14. Liechtenstein
  15. Lithuania
  16. Luxemburg
  17. Malta
  18. Netherlands
  19. Norway
  20. Poland
  21. Portugal
  22. Slovakia
  23. Slovenia
  24. Spain
  25. Sweden
  26. Switzerland

Another quick update: We're in the locks!! We weren't they first ship through, since there's at least one container ship in front of us, but we're making good time and enjoying the transit so fa. The weather is wonderful, just humid enough To make it feel tropical, and there's nothing on the horizon to give pause--fingers crossed this will be an excellent day.

Two quick "corona" updates: The misinformation about the Europe ban came courtesy of CNN, who put out breaking news that the travel ban was from and TO Europe, and didn't include the UK exemption. Since most on the ship don't have wifi, that rumor spread quickly and unnecessarily. It's since been corrected, and people seem happier.

The second update is that ALL self-service has been halted, including drink stations. We've received no word as to why, there's just a legion of servers behind the Cabanas buffet, etc. Since rumors thrive in the absence of actual information, it would be nice to know what prompted the change. It's awfully hard to be in the middle of a world-wide crisis with little

I suspect it has to do with the proposal that the Cruise Industry gave to the government outlining steps that cruise lines would take to insure the safety of passengers. I would think this is one of the "steps" and DCL opted to implement immediately.

I just heard this from our neighbors. We opted for room service while we watch the transit on our verandahs.

I believe that ALL the Disney ships have halted all self service. There were reports that the Dream started that yesterday. So, don't fret. It's likely part of the enhanced hygiene measures right now.

Glad the Panama Canal transit is going well so far and that the weather is cooperating! A Panama Canal cruise is on our bucket list once the kids are out of school!

Update: Per Guest Services, the self-service was cancelled because when Mexican officials board in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo they will be conducting an inspection, and this might help if there's any chance they'll let us debark. This was not as a result of any ship board issue.
