No one likes the hospital, yet we've all probably been there at least once in our life.
So whether it was a broken bone, surgery,or having something removed that you accidently swallowed,
when was the time you were most scared medically?
If that makes sense.

-------------------
1.Mine would definitely be my cancer diagnosis.
I'm sitting in bed recovering from surgery, the doc comes in,and starts talking to me about how my cancer treatment would go.
I immeadiately start bawling,as I'm in denial.
I mean I can't have cancer,I'm too young,too healthy.
After that I called my BFF,scared the living beejeebees outta her cause I was trying to tell her I had cancer yet I was still bawling.
It came out like sob sob...Heidi?..sob...I've..sob sob..I've got cancer..sniffle..sob sob.

i fell down a flight of stairs carrying glassware. i got 87 stitches, and couldn't walk for a long time.

i've been in the hospital about 7 times from my diabetes. last may i was so sick i went into the intensive care ward and i almost died.

Are you ok now?

Um, I've been in the hospital once because I had a severe stomach virus.
And now I'm going to be in it more often because I'm going to start volunteering :]
WOOO!

Uh... lets see here...

Oh yeah

I fell on my head once (directly)

and my eyes got dialated and i had difficulty breathing and then my mom took me to the hospital

and they checked me out gave me a cat scan (sp?) and the dude before me he also was getting his head checked out and his was worse he was throwin up and all this other stuff that REALLY SCARED me... and as it turned out

I just bruised my head and got a lump
He fractured his skull :(

I felt bad for him :(

Very happy to say that I've never had any sort of injury or illness requiring a trip to the hospital.

The worst I've had happened is fallen off a mini rocking chair and hitting my chin on a table causing some damage to my teeth (yay for a root canal at the age of 3 or 4!) and my gums were bleeding like crazy.

I have been in the hospital 6 times in my life. The most scared I was had to of been the other weekend. I was have a really bad asthma attack and was in the ER and they sent me home. Then Sunday night it got much worse to the point where I turned blue. I was rushed to the hospital and put into the childrens hospital. It was the worst I have ever been. It scared me half to death.

When I was 8-9 I went to the ER because I had a really really awful migraine. I felt all this pressure, at the time I said "I feel like I had an elephant in my head." Anyways, the doctor found a lump on my neck which worried him. I went through a ton of tests, but eventually they concured that I was fine, and it wasn't cancer or anything bad. I just had bad migraines and a calcium deposit.

But anyways, I was pretty darn scared even though I didn't really know what cancer was. To make it worse my uncle had just recovered from hodgekins (sp?) lymphoma, so my family was on edge about cancer at the time.

Rushing to the hospital at 2 AM being told I am getting admitted and having emergency surgery within 6 hours of getting admitted...all while I am 17 hours away from my parents.
and that was surgery #1 of 3 but definitely the scariest.

With surgery #3: I have a really bad reaction to anestehia and anxiety attacks so they knew me waking up was not going to be easy. I had a complete panic attack and they had to bring my surgeon into recovery to calm me down. I felt like I couldn't breathe.

Ive had my share I seem to break bones like mad I almost had to go tonight again because I was at the dance studio and we thought we heard Santa on the fire trucks coming down the road and we all ran outside for the free candy canes lol and the dance studio porch was extremely slik since it had ice on it and i ran straight foward and slipped on my face and off the porch down about 3 feets to the grass and at first i couldnt get up so my coach said that she was going to call 911 but after a few minute i was able to get up and i just sat out the rest of the class and if its bad in the morning i have to go in for a cat skan but right now i'm only light headed but i think i'll be fine in the morning

at the beginning of this year i collapsed 2ce because i had arythmia svt (sp?) basically my heart was going double speed when i got to hospital the doctor had to give me a injection which stopped my heart for a couple of beats, it didn't work the 1st time so he had to do it again. i stayed in hospital for 2 days and went home, then i got really sick and went back to hospital with food poisoning for another 2 days. i had a scan thing after and found out that i have a PFO which is a hole in my heart, which probably caused the whole thing in the first place, that was scary, and weve been told it will probably happen again

WOOO!

now i'm fine. but when this happened i was't so great. i had gone into diabetic coma for like 5 hours.

ive been in 4 times.
1. I was little, wrestling my dad on my parents bed, and somehow i flew off and hit my head on the wall, i was unconsious and got staples in my head.
2. I was still little, and i was racing my dad to go get some apple juice, i tripped, and hit my head on a brick fire place. I got stitches.
3. I was standing on a recliner and i flipped over the back and hit my head on the same brick fireplace and got stitches.
4.I swallowed a penny.

but number 2 was the one i remember most, and the most scary, all i remember about the hospital was i was tehre over night and all i remember is a bright light shining on me with a doctor, and a little doll thing they gave me after.

I uh... was whittling some wood XD
With a uhm... Swiss Army Knife.

And apparantly, the swiss army knives have springs that force them shut..
So when i closed it, my finger happened to be in the way.
Now I has a pretty scar from where they glued it shut.

Yes, no stitches, glue. They poured glue in my *gash*, then stuck a finger cast on. :D

Oh and one time, my dad was playing skeetball, and I was reaching down t get the tickets, and he RAMMED ME IN THE HEAD.

Im gonna go remind him he did that. Get me some lunch otu of it.
