Anyone have any experience flying with Allegiant Air? We are thinking of booking with them in the future, however, I can't find any info on their website regarding medical supplies/equipment. My son uses oxygen (a portable concentrator) which I've found the info on and it should not be a problem. However, we will be carrying on some medical supplies as well as checking some. They charge $15 each way for checked bags, but do they charge if the bag is medical supplies?? Other airlines do not, but this airline seems to charge for everything!

The supplies you carry on will not count toward your baggage or carry on allowance, especially if they are things you will need during the flight.

The checked bags with medical supplies are not usually not charged for by airlines as a courtesy (and it really isn't fair to charge for a bag that contains extra medical supplies because you need those and if you didn't have a bag full of medical supplies, you would have less luggage).
Some unscrupulous people have gotten wind of the 'checked bags with medical supplies are free' idea and have tried to get around it. I have read of people putting a single medical supply in a piece of luggage or spreading their medical supplies between all their bags and trying to get them all free because they contain medical supplies.
Because of those types of things, the airlines are getting more suspicious and may not allow a bag to be carried free of charge unless it only contains medical supplies.
