medical coverage with pre-existing conditions (asthma)

Hi,
My brother, who lives in Malta, Europe will be visiting me this summer. His dd (7) has asthma. Is there an insurance policy that I can purchase for him that will cover a pre-existing condition? Any help would be really appreciated. I am going to search online but I would love to hear from anyone who has had to deal with this issue.

We did not choose the Disney insurance for the exact same reason...no coverage of pre-existing conditions. My 4 year old ds also has asthma. We booked our 7 day cruise with Mytravelco.com (also known as Cruises Only.) We chose their insurance offerred by CSA. It waives all pre-existing conditions if...(from my brochure)

1. You purchase your plan prior to or with your final trip payment.

2. Amount of Trip Cancellation coverage purchased at that time is equal to the full cost of the trip. The cost of subsequent arrangements added to your trip must be insured within 14 days of payment for those arrangements.

3. The trip cost per person is no more than $25,000, and the total cost of the trip is no more than $75,000.

4. The booking for this trip must be the first and only booking for this travel period and destination.

5. You must be medically able to travel when you pay your plan cost.

Good luck. This insurance was also cheaper than the one Disney offers.

I use AAA South in Florida as my Travel Agent and they offer trip insurance also.

They will waive pre-existing conditions if you buy the insurance within 7 days of booking the trip or cruise.

You have to be in 'stable' condition at the time, which is probably the same thing as the previous poster said was called 'able to travel when insurance was purchased'.
