Medical ?- Can Anyone Help ASAP

Remember my thread about making the meal for the sick person yest. and I said I wasnt feeling well. Well I went for a blood test yest. and the dr. called today and said my blood count is something like 4.7. He wants to admit me to the hosp. and see what is wrong etc. I looked up stuff on web md but cant figure it out, lets just say I would only go to this dr. for a cold. I want to be able to ask him questions, but I dont know what to say etc. Anyone with any insight. I dont know if he wants me asap but I need to get the house in order etc.

I would do what your doctor tells you. Sound like something serious. If you are not comfortable with this doctor, ask to see someone else at the hospital.

Get to the blasted hospital and get off the idiot computer. You may well have anemia, etc.

What was 4.7?

Hemaglobin?


If that is this is he case, it is very low .... do you have health issues?


Not to get gross, but is your poop black? That is a sign of old blood .

You are better off just going to the hospital as your Dr asked and get off the internet.

Better to have someone drive you.

You need to call a family member and go. Get off the computer.

I have no idea what is 4.7 but if it's your hemoglobin, you have an issue that needs to be addressed. Honestly, when mine is low I have a hard time making good decisions and concentrating - you need a family member there with you.

Could be a sign on internal bleeding... I hope to god your on your way to the hospital and we dont have to scare you anymore.

Go to the hospital and get whatever test need to be done. Take someone else with you.

I have a couple questions.

Have you been feeling weak and tired all the time?
Feet swelling?
Trouble with heartburn or trouble eating?
Do you take Plavix?

My dad had the same problem and they've figured out that his Plavix was the cause of his red blood cell count being at 4.6. Hopefully, this is your problem and not something more serious.

My dad had the same problem and they've figured out that his Plavix was the cause of his red blood cell count being at 4.6. Hopefully, this is your problem and not something more serious.

Are you talking about hemoglobin perhaps?

My RBC is 3.70 which is flagged as being a little low, Dr. did not even call about it. Normal RBC at my lab is 3.80-5.10, so 4.6 would be good!

I am not sure what aspect of the blood count the OP is talking about. I hope she is ok!
