Nothing serious, I don't think, but just want some opinions.

On Saturday, I started with a cold that my son gave me. I wasn't quite sure I had one that day but those were the first symptoms. On Sunday, I knew I had a cold but was getting around okay. Also on Sunday, I had some bladder "sensations". This happens to me every few months. I always get it checked, it is NEVER an infection, and we are suspecting that I may have interstitial cystitis. So, on Sunday night I did not sleep AT ALL because my nose was running and I kept having to go to the bathroom. I did not go to work yesterday (Monday).

On Monday, my bladder felt better but I still had some symptoms. I hemmed and hawed about going to the doctor (I hate going) but decided to go and got an appointment for late in the day. Around lunch time, I noticed that I just didn't feel that well, I would get a bit queasy after eating, lost my appetite, cold getting worse, etc. My temp. was about 99.5 most of the day. I also noted that my heart rate was up pretty high. I didn't think much of it--figured I was nervous about the doctor's appointment. When I was at the doctor, we just addressed the bladder and some other issues I had. I mentioned to him that I was starting to get a cold and didn't feel that well. He just nodded and said "ummmhmmm" . I think my temp was normal at the doctor's office (but they use the ear thing which, I think, is horribly inaccurate).

By the time I got home from the doctor, I was aching and my temp. was still at around 99.5. I was very flushed and stayed red-in-face all night. And I was WAY overtired. I finally took some Motrin and I felt a bit better (temp 99.0). Through all this, I kept noticing that my heart rate is high (about 120 bpm).

Today I get up and my temp, so far, has been normal and I'm not aching as much. I think I was tired. My cold seems to be progressing and I was coughing up mucous in the morning (I'm sure it's just drainage). Anyway, I STILL have this darned rapid pulse. Now, I occasionally get tachycardia and have seen a doctor for it, had all the tests, etc. But I've been doing well for awhile.

I really, really, really, don't want to call the doctor over this. Do you think just having a cold could cause this? I do remember in the past that I have had rapid heart rates when I was sick but I was much sicker (high fever) and I was told that a fever will cause this.

It just worries me a bit.

Also, so far I'm not being treated for a UTI. The doctor is waiting for the culture to come back (they are always negative on me) so he doesn't want me to take antibiotics if they are not necessary (and I'm not really suffering in that area).
